I' m coming up on the one year anniversary of my 19 Ranger so I decided I'd book it on NADA to see what it comes in at. Whoa, what a surprise! It's a 2019 that I picked up last May with FX4, technology package, towing, liner and boards with 10,800 miles on it. I paid $39,100 from the dealer and clean NADA book right now is $40,475. I guess the chip shortage is a good thing unless you're trying to buy a new one! I live in a smaller town but our Ford dealer has only 2 Rangers and 1 F150 on the lot right now, they're telling me they can't get them in stock right now because of the computer chip issue.

No doubt crazy times for lots of manufacturers right now!

Just looking at what others are getting in the Carvana thread is really crazy. Mine still wasn't all that great at just under $32K but still nothing to sneeze at for a 2 years old truck. If I had already had my Bronco now I might seriously consider selling the mine and waiting forth next Gen which will hopefully have a Ranger Raptor. When I was at my dealer getting my oil changed about 2 weeks ago they still had a pretty big supply on hand. I didn't count them but the whole from lot was lined up with F150''s and Rangers. Probably why they're not giving me top dollar for mine here as there's still a good amount of new supply.

Peruse the Carvana thread.

They are offering crazy money for our trucks right now.

My latest offer from them is multiple thousands over what I paid out the door in December 2019.

Edit: I bought mine when rebates were going nuts. I got it for WAAAAYYYY under sticker.

I bought my truck this past Saturday. My truck was the cheapest Super Crew Ranger in Colorado. It rolled off the truck Wednesday night and was on hold that night. Luckily, I had a friend who got me one helluva deal. He has a working relationship, so he was able to get the dealer to hold it for me. I paid sticker, but they wiped $8k in negative equity from my trade. The dealership I bought mine from only had 1 other SC Ranger, though they had a decent amount of Super Cabs. I needed 4 doors though.

I am not interested in selling, but this is just ok I guess. Funny how NADA shows much higher values.

This all makes me wonder how the 20-21 trucks will fare in 3-6 years since there will not be as many new model used cars for sale due to production cuts this year.

I had heard some information that ford has basically stopped taking orders for '21 F-150s, saying the next model produced will be 22s. Not sure how valid that is.

Yeah it’s nuts.
I finally decided to buy a new truck after 17 years and naturally the market sky rocketed right before I decide to buy.
I’ll be waiting til next year to see rebates.

If you shop around and are willing to travel a bit you still might be able to find a deal. The way the market is it's doubtful there be any good rebates next year.

yeah I’m looking around, but everywhere I’ve looked is basically sticker out the door. That ain’t happening. Market value won’t carry these used trucks forever and I hate over paying.

I typically don't flip cars. But, I might flip this one depending on how the 6G Rangers come out and the market for used ones. I'll wait a few years into 6G production though.

I got pretty good deals with dealer and rebates, and I also know I took a hit since I bought a 2020 last month, so I lost a model year.
