Great Product. I have had mine for over 8 years.

Its works well if you need to use the full length of the bed. Just unsnap and unclip it. Then push it forward. Great if you load motorcycles. A canopy can't do that.

I would say mine has lasted a long time since I park my Ranger in underground parking.
It would break down quicker if its out in the elements continually.

Never had a snap rip. Window zippers have never failed. Frame has never broken, The clips/straps do start to corrode after a while. They have parts for them

The only thing I find is its hard not to crack the rear vinyl window. Usually a cold weather issue.

I thought I would have things stolen from the back since its material and you cannot lock it.
I think it helps that it has no side windows like the Bestop. Never had a problem with theft.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two models from softopper?

They have two different part numbers but no literature explaining the difference. They don't seem to answer emails or their phone lines

Not sure if this is the answer. They make the Softopper for a 5' and 6' bed.

I was looking again last night (after I posted here) on the laptop and it only showed one. When I go on my phone it's shows two. Part # bed cap SO-FR580 and bed cap SO-FR700. Maybe it's just a glitch in the matrix

That's got to be for 5ft and 6ft beds.

Inside of bed measures roughly 58" on 5ft beds and 70" on 6ft beds. Just had to measure for my Fas-Top order.

That's what I was thinking but it was kinda tripping me out. Because when I added either one to the cart it first asked what bed length I had. I was 85% sure it was just a glitch on their site or my phone/laptop was being weird.

I'd definitely call them and check before ordering.

Also, make sure to check out the BesTop SuperTop2. I cross shopped Softopper and BesTop pretty heavily and liked the BesTop a bit better for roughly the same price. Was going to go with the Bestop and try to make it work in tandem with a tonneau before I found the FasTop which has a tonneau built in.

Installed a grey Softopper on my 2021 Oxford White Supercab. Went with grey and ordered the mesh door as well to keep the heat down in the back, we plan on camping out of of it, storing the dogs, etc...

Went pretty well. Written instructions could be better, but for the most part the whole assembly is pretty self explanatory. Not super impressed with all of the hardware, just doesn't seem all that burly, but then there are next to no reviews I've found that have anything negative to say about long term durability.

Modified the front panel attachment. Didn't feel like sticking velcro the bed (likely getting bed liner in the future anyways). And wasn't a fan of drilling holes in a brand new truck for the 3/8" snap screws. Some cheap capped magnets from princess auto, some spare 3/8" snaps and a few rivets resulted in these. We'll see how they hold up.

Still working on ideas for the tail gate, seeing as it's aluminum. Might go with the magnets in a velcro pocket like the Tacoma guys have done and then glue some galvanized steel plate on the inside of the tailgate.

I like the magnet idea for inside.

personally, I wouldn't even bother with the velcro on the tailgate. I removed mine a while ago and just let the flap hang over it now, or sometimes I just shut it inside the tailgate, depending on how lazy I'm feeling.

Good to know, no issues with it flapping at highway speeds & rubbing on the paint?

it was actually rubbing on the paint a bit when I had the velcro installed on the tailgate, just at the corner of the bed where the fabric overlaps. Doesn't seem like it's gotten any worse since I removed the velcro. And no flapping in the wind that I can tell.

About a week for mine to make it north across the border. Talked to a fellow the other day who was checking it out in the parking lot (they're definitely not common up here) who said his tan one for the SuperCrew and five foot bed was backordered/in production. I think he said he ordered all the accoutrements for it as well though.
