I wont cover the fuel door since it was already explained 23x..
I will comment on the vandalism concern the same way I comment when i take locking lug nuts off and throw them away before i leave the stealership.
1. thats why adults buy insurance, in the case of wheel locks im done with tire monkeys forgetting to put back where it was found or breaking and not telling anyone.
2. The potential will always exist for some drip to F with ur ride. Thats why I bought a Trunk Monkey..

here's another subject...

front diff expose 1.jpg

front alloy/aluminum differential pumpkin...two piece...bolt flange not shielded under any factory FX4 skid package plate.

not bellyaching...just wondered if it's been justified.
I was not happy with this either. I put after market skids on mine that protect this as well.

gonna hijack my own thread...

I don't have any ranger off-road pictures yet...just bought it...but I have plans for it...call it a 2 year plan.

In 2004 I bought new jeep liberty 4x4. Jeep named it their model KJ. I discovered a discussion forum just like this one, and began an adventure that took me to moab, utah two years later.

The liberty was auto transmission, independent front suspension, with CV axles and aluminum front dana 30 pumpkin. I put a 2" lift on it, lunch box locker in the rear, detroit auto locker in the front, steel armor underneath, BFG A/T tires, etc. Did it all myself in my garage, learning as I went along.

Went to a jeep jamboree at Tellico (popular off-road location on N. Carolina-Tennessee line)...Did fine...learned some stuff.

in 2006, my wife and I drove from Florida to Moab to meet up with some folks I had gotten to know on the KJ forum. Some were experienced from other jeeps and such...some were less.

These are all me in a "new" vacation vehicle. It did great, and I loved it. But I got it ready before hand.

My ranger will be capable in a couple years.

this is a Ford Ranger forum...and I just joined. I'm very aware that I should focus on my new truck when I participate. I just don't have anything to say yet...except that I didn't know how to open the fuel flap...:muscle:

I met a great crowd in moab. none of us new each other except in chatter just like you guys make. we had some great spotters who knew their shit. we rode the trails for seven days. poison spyder, flat iron mesa, cliffhanger...I can't remember them all now.

Also took a day trip over to the LaSalle mountains, which are easy to see from most all the moab trails. Heavy snow...florida boy with blue tarp....didn't take long to pack a hill slide into a bobsled run. really fun vacation. well worth all the prep at home in the garage to make it all go.

Don't worry about going off topic especially in your own thread. Just about every thread goes off topic at some point. Plus we like to hear and see others off roading experiences even if it's not a Ranger. Soon enough you'll have the UPS guy at your house delivering all sorts of stuff for your Ranger. Some you never remember ordering because this site just orders stuff automatically for you. :curse:

Should be able to just push the gas cover and it pops open. Sometimes I have to push a few times. Works fine though
My '97 Escort and/or '99 Cougar had the pop-out fuel door. Just push on the dimple and it should spring open.

I just joined up and said hey on the introduction forum. Got some friendly replies.

This is gonna be pretty lame stuff, but I need to wade in and get some practice here.
Welcome Steve. That is quite an entrance. I'm sure you will find some and share some great stuff here.
