Packed up some supplies and me, the wife, daughter and her boyfriend hit the outdoors for a day trip cookout.

To all you heathens; a real man eats blue cheese crumbles and bacon on his hamburger. Nothing else. Joking aside was a good day with temps in the 70's.

I recently installed Ford's Tailgate Lock. I realize that if your tailgate is locked, it's harder for someone to steal it, but just to be on the safe side, I installed this product. I don't see myself needing to remove my tailgate so quick removal is not an issue for me. The bracket installed in under 10 minutes and fit around the "inside" swivel point on the passenger side (it prevents the tailgate from being lifted out". You remove one of the hinge bolts on the bottom/under side of the tailgate and install the bracket with a keyed bolt (similar to a locking lug nut). I think I paid under $40 with shipping, which is far less than the couple thousand for a new tailgate.

All a good steak needs is salt and pepper period.
This old urban legend. There are lots of steak seasoning mixes far superior to salt and peppa!

I prefer soaking the steak in a light coating of dales. Which I guess... is more or less liquid salt haha

Spent the day washing my wife's Legacy and the Bounty Hunter and finished both of them off with a coat of Griot's Garage 3-in-1 ceramic wax. Crap, that makes for a looonnnggg day

I just finished installing my DIY bed divider.

“Why do you need a bed divider? It’s only a 5’ long bed.” Yes, I know. But my arms aren’t that long, so I can’t reach things that slide to the front, and I almost have the wife willing to let me spend the money for the Bak Revolver cover, so I’ll want a way to keep things close to the tailgate then.

“Alright, fine...but why cheap out and build it? You spent the money on an expensive new truck, what’s a few hundred for a quality divider, or better yet, an extender that can do double duty!” Maybe it was the extra 1.5’ in my F-150 SCAB’s bed, but I never used my extender as an extender, only a divider, and finding quality dividers for the Ranger is hard to do. And I could build this for $20, vs the nearly $300 of the AMP Research one.

“$20?! How??” Well, you can find the top rail to a chain link fence at Home Depot for $13. It’s 10.5’ long, so cutting it in half (60.5”, to be exact) gives you two solid steel bars that have zero flex to them. To mount them, I 3D printed a bracket that fits the spacing of the middle tie-down holes, since mine are just empty threads. Use a can of Plasti-Dip ($5) to paint the whole thing black, and secure it in place with 4 M8x1.25 bolts ($2).

“Huh. Good job.” Of course it is. I don’t do anything but. I might even go a step further and print something in the middle to add some decorative flair and a couple of D-rings. Dunno yet.

I love Dale's Sauce! Especially the low sodium variety because it's actually thinker and clings to the meat!

It's amazing how dirty a truck can get on both the inside and outside, even though you only weekend drive it. Today I washed my Ranger, vacuumed out the interior, and wiped down the interior. It took way too long! And now it's sitting outside collecting new pollen. ?
