The Dude abides...

On a non-tailgate subject, my 265/70/17s rub a bit in reverse...both stock height and leveled. I was a bit surprised at this. I did remove the plastic covers on the crash bars, but I still hear it. Maybe the Grabbers are meatier than others?

That's surprising as I don't recall anyone with that tire size having issues. I have a 2.5" level and Nitto Ridge Grapplers and haven't had any rubbing. It's possible the the Grabbers are a little taller?

Welcome Ed,

Your truck looks great - those wheels, tires, and lift give it a great stance. The rubbing could be because your wheels have just a hair more offset than your crash bars want. If you haven’t already done so, try loosening the crash bar bolts and pushing the bars out further. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, try these...

Besides, it will give you another excuse to work on your truck.

Oh geez, I almost forgot...don’t become this guy.

Greetings everyone! First post on the Forum, but I've been lurking awhile before I pulled the trigger on a new Ranger. After much soul-searching, I cancelled my Bronco reservation and accepted the fact that I'm a truck guy....have been for 25 years. However, this is my first 4X4. I wasn't going to give up on driving on the beach. I'm an old gearhead with a lift in the garage, so I knew a Ranger would be fun, and I bought my "blank canvas" 2 weeks ago: A Carbonized Gray basic XL with a 101A package. Here's the before:

Now for the parts list:

-Fox 2.0 coilovers/shocks (I did the LCA removal method)
-Vision Warriors 17 X 8.5 +25 offset, General Grabbers 265/70s
-Iconic 3" NERD bars
-Truxedo hard roll-up cover
-Curt class 3 hitch
-No taligate damper...I know somebody's gonna ask!

...and here she is!

Thank you all who have posted so much valuable info in this Forum. I was able to accomplish so much and choose the correct rims and tires just from reading here. I look forward to participating.

Future stuff includes:
-CoveKing custom molded covers (them vinyl seats gonna be too hot!)
-AFN grille
-maybe some mild fender flares...haven't decided yet
Great-looking Ranger, Congrats! :like:

Anyone with a Buford T Justice picture is okay by me, welcome!
Did you know he’s a distinguished officer of over thirty years seniority?

Hold up on that car wash, gentlemen.

I agree, it's probably the offset causing rubbing...I'll loosen the bars up and persuade them a bit.

As for the tailgate, I'm still getting used to the damn thing locking! My last truck was an 09 Ranger, and this tailgate feels a lot lighter than that one. Hey, at least they gave us hood dampers, though technically those are lifts. I still instinctively look for the prop rod. :p

I owned a 96 Ranger Lima for 20 years, then my 09 with a 4.0L for boat ownership, now this one. Light years difference. I'm movin' on up like the Jeffersons! ???

Welcome Ed. The trucks is good looking for sure.

The struggle is real, the pressure is great, you will conform, a damper is in your future. Don't resist, just let the euphoria wash over you. You'll be a better man.......:bandit:
