I am hoping step 5 makes more sense when I have the truck in front of me.

Procedure for removing the driver's side A-pillar for proper cable routing. Looks like a nightmare to me.
ThTs why just jamming it between the windshield and trim is the common way of installing the wire up the A pillar!

It is actually very straightforward and should not take more than 30 seconds.

Here's a vid for the driver's side (right hand side for overseas). Basically....PULL. (just watch the first minute or so)

Passenger side is same, but first unbolt the grab handle.

I bought a cheap add-a-fuse/dashcam USB cable combo from Amazon. It comes with a Micro 2 fuse adapter that will allow me to test which fuses are affected by the start-stop tech.

15ft MicroUSB & MiniUSB Dash Cam Hardwire Kit with Mini/LP Mini/ATO/Micro2 Fuse, Micro to Mini (and Type-C) Port Adapters and Battery Drain Protection System

Dang, if only you'd have waited till I got back from lunch... I was going to post that Fuse 37 is the one you should use. Its a 20a spare micro 2 and works just fine as a switched accessory output. Using my CellLink neo battery, the dash cam functions just fine through auto start/stop actions and goes into parking mode recording when the ignition is switched off.

Don't be upset you just saved me an hour of aggravation. I don't have a battery on my dashcam so I'll see if Fuse 37 is an uninterrupted power source.

Thinkware F800 Pro installed yesterday. Battery backup is in the glove compartment, ran power to the camera up the passenger side A-Pillar, tucked in the head liner, down and around the lane departure camera housing to the front camera. Ran the rear camera's cabling up from the front camera, tucked in the headliner, down the passenger side A-Pillar, tucked under the passenger side floor door moulding, up the rear of the cab, tucked in the back of the headliner and down to the rear camera. Overall the install was pretty easy, but I just wish I could hide the front cables more... There's no easy way to tuck the wiring behind the lane departure camera housing unfortunately.

@j0shm1lls can you close the fuse box cover with an add-a-fuse adapter installed?
I connected to the in-cabin fuse box, just under the steering wheel and yes, there is plenty of room to close the cover.

I can run out and take a pic if you'd like.

Is this the factory ground point or just what you used?

I didn't dig around too much for a factory grounding point so I just used what was nearby. I presume you'd find one just below this area in the driver's kick panel. I just didn't wanna take it off if I didn't have to.

Honest question... What's the value add for a dash cam? What do you get for spending $50 to $400 dollars on a camera to record your view? I've been thinking about pulling the trigger but just not sure what the full advantage is outside of covering yourself in case of an accident. Does insurance give a discount?

If your able to prove your not at fault for a accident if you were to get in one. The cost of the unit will pay for itself in the form of you not getting a ticket and higher insurance premiums. And some of the weird stuff you can record while driving :giggle:
