Making a new thread for this here so it doesn't get lost in the clutter.
  1. pull down firmly on the upper plastic housing surrounding the camera
  2. locate the light grey connector (w/ 3 wires) and disconnect male & female

  3. Insert positive (red) wiretap below the Blue (switchable 12V) wire

  4. Insert ground (black) wiretap below the Black (ground) wire
    20190318_212526.jpg
  5. Heat shrink your connections
  6. I used a 5/32 bit to make an opening to route my cable through the plastic housing

Yes I would also like to know if this is powered by the engine.
The switchable 12V source only goes on when the ignition is switched 'ON' or when the accessories are powered on. Otherwise, it receives no power when everything is switched 'OFF'.

Sweet! Thank you very much.

PS: if I needed a fusable link or something else for my dashcam, is there any room under the cover to squash anything in there?

Also (last thing I promise). What are those blade-style connectors called that you are pushing into the gray connector? Trying to find them online to buy but can't seem to get the right word combo on Amazon. Thanks!

There is a bit of extra room under the plastic cover to hide more stuff in there.

MirrorTaps include 2 Amp inline fuses. Each kit comes with several tap sizes, from short to long "blades" to thinner wire-type taps. I don't work for them, but I do endorse their products. High quality products and great customer service!

Any chance you have a pic of the mirror stalk and base with the cover off?

Here’s the pictures from my Blendmount Escort 360 mount and Mirrortap. The Blendmount was a beta build for the NA Ranger that was shipped to me on 3/20/2019.

It’s been working great for me with no issues after driving about 1500 miles post install and I don't see them making any changes to it. It didn’t have a part number on the one they sent me, but I'll reach out to them and see if I can get one for anyone interested.

Thanks, I wanted to see if I could swap in a mirror with homelink built in.

Thanks for the photos and documentation. I would like to know how the lower cover is attached to the windshield. I know how the upper cover is held in place, is the lower cover held in the same manner? I have tugged gently on it with the upper cover removed, but don't want to break anything.

I'm using a Cellink Neo Battery to power my dash cameras. Fits perfectly in the glovebox. I used the Micro2 Add-A-Fuse that came with it to get power from Fuse 37 in the driver side fuse panel. See the post below...
