Tailgate storage...hmmm.. is it better than a damper??

Agreed. Pretty cool but so much work!! I'd also be concerned about the how easily the outer skin can dent with the internal framework cut out.

I saved myself the work and had my tailgate delivered with a truck bed for storage use...

In my humble opinion, a huge amount of unnecessary work and needless expense, on a truck that does not lack for storage space, inside the cab and out in the bed.

So everytime you put your gate up its like taking your tool box and turning it on its side. Unless you pack your items tight that seems like a mess for organization.

Still give them props because it’s always cool to see something new and interesting built.

I wish I shared your opinion. I have one of the wheel well boxes and still have stuff in the bed.

I love it...and would have not done the swing box storage.....and you would still want the damper with the extra weight of this box.
