Yes. Matter of fact we've already talked about just that. We've (I've) got to many dad-gum vehicles I play with, but latter on I know I'll want to cut down some. We talked about a Ranger CrewCab to make two of the vehicles into one. Now, I've just got to wait until I can get my mind right on that decision. :)

As @dtech said, it would be the "bee's knees" if Ford had the 2.7L as an option when decision time comes. :like:
Jim, There's been talk of a Ranger Raptor and it should come with the 2.7 in it. Maybe hold out a little for that? That's another reason I decided to keep my Ranger and go down to a Base Bronco and will trade my Ranger in for that in a heart beat!

THAT is a plan! I would definitely buy the Ranger again but since seeing the new Bronco, I would have gotten that instead.

I would buy it again, yes, but it would need to be a Raptor or Tremor type Ranger with the 2.7. I would buy different options, though, I still want LED lights and heated seats and B&O sound system, but don't need the leather seats and would go with the 6 foot bed, rather than the Supercrew, because my back seat isn't being used as a back seat like I thought it would. Its being used as a storage area. I would do a rear seat delete and get smaller wheels, not the 18"s I have now. Those are quibbles, not deal breakers. Still perfectly happy with what I purchased.

The biggest thing that will hamper me making a good decision with be that Bronco. If I can find a way to do without a truck the Bronco will stay. First world problems I know.......:)

Thankfully I'm using the truck as a truck less, and less. And, the Bronco can haul the rest of the stuff with ease.

You're not asking for much. :)

I don't think I am :) I have no idea who creates these option packages, but they are kinda dumb.

While a Ranger Raptor would be nice, I probably wouldn't trade in my current truck to get one.

On the other hand, if Ford actually produces this...

I could probably be persuaded to trade more readily.

Looks cool but I would guess it would depend on the Gladiator sales. I have no idea what they are but all I know is that when we were at Zion in October the place was full of them.

FCA killed Gladiator sales with their pricing.

While it was selling well to the "gotta get it first" crowd when it came out, after those buyers were done the rest of the buying public seemingly balked at paying $60k for a Fiat pickup.

I haven't checked lately but at one time it was easy to see Gladiators at $13k off sticker (just checked Koons and it looks like Gladiator Rubicons and Overlands are around $10k off sticker before haggling)

My fear is that Ford will try to capitalize on the Bronco enthusiasm in the same way and get in some gouging of their own.

Just saw a news piece that Ford is introducing a smaller pickup than the current Ranger. More like the size of the ones before this current generation. Not sure when that’s happening though.

I’ve been in a Ranger since 97. That had an 8’ bed. (Only thing I miss) Had the V6 3.0 in it. Picture tells the tale. I would still be driving it except fist size holes in the frame at front rear leaf springs. Saw that and said time for a new one. Just picked up a 2020 XLT with 501A package. Magnetic grey with black trim. Since finding this group the mods are in progress already! I’ll be posting some of the ones I do as I knock them off.

Technically I already did. My first Ranger was purchased in 1988.

Would I purchase another new generation Ranger? Yes, if mine got totalled or stolen, yes, I would custom order another one.

I'm hoping the one I bought earlier this year will last the rest of my life.

I didnt like the ranger dealership I ended up with, they where dishonest when it came to pricing. Having said that, I'd have started my search online instead of using the costco referral. The agent I worked with was not costco-trained financer. In addition, they had literally 1 ford ranger on the lot. Had to wait 3 weeks for them to get one that was more in line for the right options I wanted. I probably would have waited a month or two for a custom-built ranger. The only other truck I've considered, is a single cab F150 with a 6.5 or 8 foot bed.
