I owned a 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. My experience with Hyundai has been lackluster internals that fail early. I don't think I could trust them to design a truck that's going to last. If they are doing a 4 cylinder turbo. I'd avoid it.
I have a lariat with the sound upgrade. Engine sounds normal at normal Temps. But if it's cold, the fake engine noise enhancement makes my truck sound like a V12, it's incredibly stupid. I plan on having them remove it in Ford IDS. Would do it myself, but the Ford software is $99 plus requires a...
I'm almost at 5K miles. I messaged my dealership that I bought the truck from, that I want them to inspect cylinders for excessive fuel dilution in all 4 cylinders for possible replacement of injectors. Check for leaks on the rails, and fuel lines. And possible replacement of the high pressure...
I'd buy bilstein, if they offered external Reservoir. When I go over a uneven bump on my 2WD Ranger, the back "wiggles" :|
Then again, I'm running mostly stock Ranger, interested to see how the Electric F150 fares.
Your supposed to get oil in the middle of the draining process. If you use a vacuum pump, your going to get either the stuff floating on top, or the carbonized sticky stuff at the bottom.
FYI, I got my oil report, apparently I have high-risk gas dilution, 3% at 2,250 miles... (I only use high...
Last week I jacked the truck up, and pulled the oil out at 2,250 miles.
Ironically, after lifting the hood smelled gasoline vapors. I got dark green oil out of my truck, supposedly that's liquid moly break in (semi-synthetic?) blend. I sent a oil sample to Polaris Labs, and Blackstone Labs...
Every time I open the front hood of my car, I can smell gasoline. My crapware Hyundai Genesis Coupe never had that smell. Makes me think it's either running rich, or leaking gasoline somewhere.
I did my first oil change today at 2,253 miles. The factory semi-synthetic oil came out a dark army...
From my research, the valve cover (spent gasoline) is the "IN" port, and the "OUT" port is at the throttle body. On the 3 port versions they add a 2nd "IN" port usually right before the turbocharger. I was siding with getting the UPR oil catch can. But Mishmoto seems to have alot of variety for...
Socks rip easily if you go on any snowy roads with rocks. In oregon, we dump tons of rocks on the snow; instead of rock salt.
I agree that snow tires would be a better bet. I think there's some sorta rating where they need the "three peaks" for true snow tire rating. These are like... $850 from...
I used a RhinoRamp (3000 lbs rated each, 6k lbs total), and it failed miserably. Kept slipping on dry flat concrete... making rubber smear marks all over my garage floor. I threw away my super old jack stands last year cause they where cheap harbor freight ones.. not sure if they'd have hold up...
Hey, I also found this awhile ago;
https://yourcovers.com/transpan_11164.php
I wonder if they'll offer a more competitive price on their version. (If it ever comes out!)
@Mishimoto Could you elaborate? I'm very interested to know, also.. do you sell check valves, or are check valves integrated with the catch can?
@Sign1941 This video is real helpful; (Shows a twin turbo V6 F150 with a 3-port oil catch can)
If I can be patient enough.. I might bother with...
I'm siding more and more with them, while they only have the 2-port variant as a ranger exclusive, they do make additional oil catch cans with a 3-port design. Ironically UPR had a "sale", all they did was remove the discount, then make it so you put in a discount code to get the same "on sale"...
With the exception of the oil catch can, I really like aftermarket products by Mishimoto, is there a newsletter for ranger-specific announcements? Any plan on making a non-plastic cover for the 10R80 transmission? Hopefully with a magnetic drain plug. Thanks.

In oregon, we dump loads of rocks on snow roads. So very common to get a crack on the windshield, this is why I don't mind driving a extra 10 minutes to avoid highway roads. I do pay $8 more for windshield insurance. We'll see how it goes.. !
