I got to use my Ranger to pull my neighbor out of the ditch, kinda. She had pullled into the parking lot and drove off the end of it and couldn't get back on the blacktop because of the lip at the edge of the parking space. Cute students attending UNE from RI. One of the condo owners rent out their condo to students attending UNE so they are always a different group of girls. I had to use the locker and 4WD. I'm feeling heroic.

I would have turned it into an excuse to break out the winch, all kinds of shackles and other assorted recovery gear. Probably would have had them put on safety glasses too.

Trip to Home Depot to buy supplies to fix the roof on a shed. That’s four sheets of plywood, one sheet of Durock, four packs of shingles, and a roll of tar paper. The two large PVC pipes were for a water storage system my brother wants to make for showering while camping.

Our local volcano started erupting so I jumped in the Ranger to take a look! This is the Halema’uma’u crater on the Kilauea volcano. After the 2018 eruption that took over hundreds of homes, The crater started to grow a lake on the bottom last year. After a few earthquakes today, it seems magma broke through and the volcano began erupting again. We’ve been waiting for it to occur since she stopped.

Drove up 2.5 hrs to drop the Christmas presents off at the Grandkids, as the planned week visit at our place was cancelled because of Covid.

The roads were slushy and icy at first and the Ranger did just fine in 2H, with weight in the bed.

I think the Ranger came back cleaner than it left as they was a light rain much of the way.

What impressed me a lot was the Rain-x repellent in the windows. For much of the drive I did not need my wipers as the rain under highway speeds just quickly beaded off the windshield.

I meant to take some pictures along the way, as there is a lot of beautiful landscape to take with the Ranger, but because of the weather we focused on getting to and back as expeditiously as possible, fearful that it could turn quite icy.

We did not encounter any lava flows enroute! ?

Rain-X rocks if applied twice and buffed and then cleaned with water and microfiber towel.
