@Big Blue I'm not complaining, but I just went outside and checked and the buttons are now there. Both on the home screen and the sub-menu of the climate screen. Bizarre, but it is what it is. Nice that they are on the home screen. That'll be handy.

@tmcolegr , my as built was the same as yours. I presume the "3" appeared after playing with the menu options.

Seems like it takes a few ignition cycles for everything to update lately. Iheard the same issue from other people on the forum, especially with the APIM.

I think Ford calls this a soft reset, versus a master reset which restores the factory settings (erases your presets, phone connection, contacts, etc.

Master reset brought CarPlay back online for me
Just did the 3.4 upgrade but Car Play doesn't work plus ni Climate icon. Not worried about the Climate but sure want Car Play back. How is a master reset done ?

OK, after another start, Car Play appeared. The install seemed to go smoothly. Took close to 30 minutes as I was driving. I stopped and shut car down for about 5 minutes. Started truck and the Ford logo appeared and then BLACK screen. Great ! So I start driving back home with the black screen. I decide to pull over and stop and do another stop and start. The Ford logo appeared again and Synch slowly started to load. Hit the road home and hooked up iPhone. Got the Car Play messages but no Car Play. Got home, stop start and still no Car Play or other Apps. Came back after typing the above message and Apps slowly appeared along with Car Play.

This software update process is not impressive. But the XML file did write and I sent to Ford which now shows 3.4 on my truck.

I'll fix the Climate icon missing with Forscan but not a priority after dealing with this somewhat fiasco

Did the official 3.4 from Ford and you lose the android auto nav directions of the right productivity screen. Going to roll out back to the unofficial previous version.

Well, after driving it for a week it wasn't there. Decided to try it one more time before I rolled it back and now it showed up.... Sometimes technology is as much a bane as it is a boon.

To err is human. To really f*ck up requires a computer.

I didn't change anything. I just tested it on the truck. I entered a destination and it started working.

The Ranger probably heard you cursing why it wasn't working right! Technology can be awesome at times.

Something I've noticed with 3.4... For my SiriusXM presets, when I press an icon, it has the station buffered to start at the beginning of the current song. If I press the icon a second time, it clears the buffer and goes to actual part of the song that's currently playing.

This only works for presets, not direct tune. I didn't notice it doing this on 3.3.
