How deep is the opening?
Will it be a bug catcher?

I think you misunderstood me. I'm not blaming Ford. I'm blaming the scoop company... Some of these companies leave 'weep' holes underneath for moisture escape, but in this case, the top pools the water. I will deal with it of course... just an irk that they didn't think off...Hi John,
This is a styling decision you made. Ford Styling and Ford Marketing decides these appearance items. There are quite a few hoodscoops in Ford's history, The Ranger was not one of them for some reason. That is why the aftermarket can address "nitch" products that mainstream is not interested to have on their vehicle. For example...I have passing interest in Pebble Beach for those top drawer restored vehicles that are not driven but trailered everywhere...Drive the vehicles.... Not my cup of tea...but others are crazy about this. So if you like the look as others do, enjoy it but please do not malign the vehicle manufacturer for not supporting your personal taste... Henry Ford almost tanked the company with his personal taste, "you can have any color you like on your Ford as long as it is black"...personal taste almost resulted in the company going the way of American Motors, Alburn, Cord and so on...

Ya mean the scoop? There is a fake honeycomb like grid a tad back... maybe 1/4"... Most bugs are dormant around here but hopefully my bug deflector solves the prob. How deep is the opening?

Thanks!! No wrap. That's how they came in. It's like a smooth abs plastic.Your truck's lookin' great - did you wrap the flares too?
They should be. Same material I believe! Thanks! I ordered Bushwacker pocket-style flares with the bolt-on pattern - I was curious about whether or not I should paint them - I hope they look as good as the smooth flares on your truck - Amazon just dropped them off 10 minutes after I posted that question and I'm in an online meeting and can't get away to open up the box and take a look - I'm certain I might not make it.
I sure hope they're as shiny as yours.
Got a link?Just finished installing 5 minutes ago!![]()

They look great out of the box - even better installed. I like the aggressive look they give the Ranger. I'm pulling off the air dam tonight and the Rough Country 2-1/2" level kit goes in this weekend. They should be. Same material I believe!
Thats awesome. Im excited for you! I hope you wouldnt have to, but I did. I couldnt turn fully without rubbing on the crash bars, both front and rear. The crash bars had to come off. I put the lift after I removed the crash bars so not sure if with the lift you wouldnt need to.They look great out of the box - even better installed. I like the aggressive look they give the Ranger. With your 18mm offset, did those 32s fit without mods? My wheels have a 15mm offset and I'm hoping to I nstall 32s without cutting or trimming crash bars.
How did Henry Ford’s personal taste almost tank the company? Is the black paint saying (which I’m familiar with) the entirety of the story about almost tanking the company?Hi John,
