Has anyone tinted their headlights or tail lights with a film. I have the magnetic color and think a nice tint to the headlights would look good and maybe the back. Was hoping to find someone who has done such and has some phots. Thx.

Haha. You’ll be the guy that makes anyone pay for blocking you in or slow rolling on the highway at night.

Amazing !! Never thought they would have got LED's to throw light that far !
Each one of those cost $85...surprisingly cheap...sorry for hijacking your thread LOL...back on topic...which is I thought about tinting tailamps a few times but always changed my mind due to two reasons:

1-I could get a ticket
2-I could get rear ended

But I never thought about tinting my headlamps for obvious reasons :)

@Dmax I did smoke film on just the clear lenses of my tail lights. I also did the 3rd brake light. Makes the center of the tail lights almost look body color.

I've always been curious as to why people do this. Is it just for looks, or is there some other purpose?

I don't know why you'd tint your rear lights, especially your reverse lights. I'm going to add some extra reverse lights to help with trailer hookup and backing out of tight spots in the dark. People who tint the entire rear of their cars are asking to get rear ended by someone texting and driving.

I agree. I don't see the point of it, but that's why I was asking to see if there was some reason besides just looking "cool".

no real reason other than "looking cool" but nothing kills the look of a nice car faster than obnoxiously large tail lamp assemblies. im probably going to be doing this soon. nothing crazy, just a slight tint to help the assemblies not stand out so much. ill have they guy doing it not put any tint on the reverse lamps or the blinkers, just the tail and brake lights.

im sure headlight tinting, if done right, can extend the life of the plastic lens quite a bit. i had such a hard time keeping my headlights from fogging and yellowing on my previous car. even a clear UV film would have helped tremendously.
