Vent Visors With Tinted Glass

I had my front side windows tinted and the place that did them told me not to use inchannel vent visors. Anyone else told the same?

I really prefer the in channel for appearance purposes.

The place that did my side windows said the only thing was I needed to leave the windows up for a couple of days until sure of adhesion. That was in 2023 and have had no problems with either bubbling or edges pealing. I have the in channel vents.

They tint the inside of the glass. It's the outside of your glass that touches the shade in-channel. Ive had in-channel shades on my Ranger for years and there's no issues or damage.

But as mentioned above, keep your windows closed for a few days after tint is applied.

My tint was applied in 2021. I know the tint is applied to the inside. They also told me to keep the windows closed for a few days and to not use window cleaner with ammonia and dry with a microfiber towel. When I asked about the window visors they said not to use in-channel ones. This is the reason for my question.

I get that.
But they didnt tell you why? I would want to know what their reasoning was. Makes no sense to me, is all.

I have no skin in the game here (no vents) but I have a hunch on their intent. The vent may push the window more firmly into the seal on the tinted side causing faster wear over time.

I'm not convinced but YMMV.

It absolutely does press, and to date has not damaged my window film at all.

Thats my experience, anyway. Good luck with yours.

In channel and tint for 5+ years on the ranger with zero issues.
15+ years of tint and in channel on the F250 with zero issue.

Speaking of in channel vents… Is there a trick to installing those? When I first got my truck, I tried putting them on but ran into issues. The windows wouldn’t roll up… They would hit the vents and roll back down automatically. Even if I held the switch, they wouldn’t roll up. I followed the install instructions so I didn’t think I did anything wrong? Ended up returning them.

I did not have that problem with either set of mine. I installed exactly as the instructions said to, let the windows sit closed on the shades a day or three. No issues at all.
