Do you plan to use it as a truck and haul stuff? Leveled trucks look wimpy when they carry enough of a load to make the rear sag. As for me I like the raked look,. The only reason I would level even a 4X4 is if it is primarily to be used as a serious off roader to get the ground clearance. To each is own, as has been said your truck your money.
No, I'd seldom have a load, but excellent point. Thanks.

If you have a rear locker on that, you're 3/4 of the way to 4x4 performance. I wouldn't call it cheating to get some ground clearance then. If not you can always add one.
There you go and that's my excuse....I do have rear locker and will raise the front. Thanks.

Yep, Go ahead and level it. I'm pretty sure both 4x2 and 4x4 Gen 4 Rangers were all leveled.

Don't think manufacturers started lowering the front end until recently to help get better fuel economy (or meet fuel economy regulations, possibly).
Interesting about the fuel economy. I could handle a slight hit on that , but more worried about disturbing how well it drives and handles.

It won't be much if anything with just the level kit. You might notice a slight drop on the highway at higher speeds because you lost the front rake. I added a 2.5" level and one size up tires and didn't lose all that much around town and slower highway speeds. Where I notice it more is once I get up over 70+ MPH but I don;t drive all that much on the highway for it to matter.

I would level a 2wd. But I have no use for a 4wd I just like the look. I trail ride in Colorado so no real need for the extra moving parts. My Jeep Wrangler is for the hardcore stuff.

That's your 2wd? If so, how does it drive and how bad did it hurt the mpg.?

that is my 2wd. I lost maybe 1-2mpg. It’s hard to tell because my driving is so inconsistent lately. However today I took that off and put the rough country 6” on so I’m expecting to take a decent hit to mpg until I get a programmer. Oh and it drove just like stock it didn’t handle any different and I didn’t notice any loss of power in sport mode.

That's what I'm holding out for-
Even though mine is a 4x4

I know I'm the odd-ball here, but I wanna drop the ass end down instead....

Kinda wondering about using 2 inch aluminum "lowering blocks" that is the same width and length of the axle mounting plate...
Custom ordered/extended length U-bolts...
You're not odd, just probably way younger than me. ha ha

My wife would love that.
For me it works well. Its a working truck and I carry a ton of stuff in the bed. The lowering makes getting stuff in and out from under the bi-fold tonneau cover a lot easier. Cabin access is improved and getting ladders and other long things on and off the roof rack is easier too.

My wife's FX4's tailgate is at least 10" higher than mine and reaching Into the bed from the side of the truck is impossible.

Levelled out with spacers and 265/70's rides much better than stock. Mileage is avg at 18.4 in town tracked with FUELLY app over the last 708 miles. I use Shell or Exxon 93 octane. The ride feels stiffer compared to stock tires and height. Tire pressure is showing 43 lbs cold on FordPass app. I prefer a stiffer ride, so that is entirely subjective. It's a 2 wd. I wanted a little more clearance in case I felt the need to hop a couple curbs or take an off road detour etc.

Sure. Why not? The truck looks way better with a 2.5” level.

It needs a 2" drop on both front and rear, Ain't happnin' though.
Ford made all the right compromises but left me on the edge of some of them.
I can't really help it if so many buyers demand poor choices! :giggle:
