The true advantage of front and rear lockers is that they let you go slower since you have more traction and can crawl over things instead of needing help from momentum. When driven right, you are less likely to break parts with a locker. OTOH when driven like you are the next Walker Evans then you are more likely to break parts. A stock 4x4 is a very capable off-roader if it has a good set of tires. When I did used to go 'froading I did some amazing things with a '02 Ranger Off-Road Package and a '05 Sport Trac that had nothing more than mild lifts, better tires, and factory limited-slip rears. I note that I once pulled out a stuck Wrangler Rubicon with front and rear lockers, he high-centered it which is not easily done in a Wrangler, but for example lockers don't do you a lot of good if your tires aren't touching the ground.Yes but I hear, "I'm not that good of a driver and I have a lot to learn, so I spend money and let my equipment make up for my shortcomings."
