Whenever I have Safelite replace a windshield, I always get the OEM replacement.Has anyone seen this issue happen and gotten it covered under warranty? Truck is a 2021 with 18k miles.
Any risk with just leaving it? I am sure they will just use Safelite or someone similar to put in an aftermarket windshield.

Safelite replaced a cracked windshield on my Ranger. Insurance spec'd aftermarket, Safelite noted aftermarket as 'not available' and used an OEM.Whenever I have Safelite replace a windshield, I always get the OEM replacement.
I would think you could be able to specify that if you have the dealer replace it. I can't imagine your dealer actually replacing under warranty anything BUT an OEM windshield, but I guess you never know, do you?
Best to insist on it, just to be sure. Look for the RANGER logo bottom center of windshield to be sure.
Best of luck!
My insurance Co (Traveler's) never flinches when I request OEM. I have an appreciation for that.Safelite replaced a cracked windshield on my Ranger. Insurance spec'd aftermarket, Safelite noted aftermarket as 'not available' and used an OEM.
I hear you. My family has a history of heart disease, so to prevent any future problems, I'm going to schedule a heart transplant. Just in case.I just turned 20k on my 21 OMG one more thing to worry about on our trucks, this is getting crazy, I bought a new truck because I didnt want to worry about any thing for 10 years! and now the truck I picked has many issues, I am not a happy camper ....
the radio could go out tomorrow, the tranny could go out, many engine issues, the drive shaft, blend door etc.....
if they were turning out a quality product with Union Pride I could see paying them more, But!
