Was just going to say the same thing.

This sounds like an excellent test case for @carmigo . Give them a try and let us know how it turns out!
We accept the challenge!

I sold my flooring business and decided to sell my 2020 Ranger Lariat Sport 4x4 Supercrew. It has 29,600 miles and I want to get good money for it so I’m willing to offer it nationwide, not just in western North Carolina. Carvana is offering $32K but I want at least a few thousand more. What sites have worked for you?
Subtle self-promo... but have you tried Carmigo? You can check out our website and social media if you'd like to learn more, but basically you can list you car for free, adjust your own reserve price, and then get multiple offers. If you don't get the price you want, you have no obligation to sell.

I would be very wary of dealing with Carvana at the moment. Just google them. All kinds of horror stories of title snafus haunting both buyers and sellers long after the deal. They are on the verge of bankruptcy, or takeover, and who knows what happens with your paperwork if that occurs.

Put your truck on Craigslist. I think it cost $5, take a bunch of pictures, write up a good description, meet each person at the local police station to view the truck, tell the person who wants to purchase it that you will only accept a bank check from their bank, meet them there to witness the transaction, then take truck to local DMV office, meet them there and when you sign title over they hand over the bank check, bring screwdriver or nut driver to remove license plate to turn in while at DMV.

Also, get at least 3 values for the truck, KBB, Carfax, and another one that I can't remember, average those prices, then add 2 or 3k and list that price on Craigslist.

That's how I sold my 2000 Ranger after I bought my 2020 XLT. For you safety, have wife or neighbor watching from another vehicle while your at police station with possible purchaser, and don't have title in hand. Do not accept cash unless you are at a bank for them to check its real. I have sold 3 vehicles that way and got the desired amount

After much consideration especially from this thread, I realized I wouldn’t get significantly more by selling the truck online. Carvana offered me the best price at $32.2K and I’m doing the deal today. I just hope their check clears my bank!!!

If you're worried don't cancel the insurance until the check clears. I had a friend that sold a classic car online and the car carrier brought a bank check that turned out being fake. His insurance covered it as stolen after a police report was filed.
Carvana gave us the most for our car. Hopefully your transaction is as good as ours was.

Go park it with a for sale sign in the local high school parking lot. Shouldn't take long for some kid's dad who owns a construction company comes along to snap it up for his crotch fruit. You could probably get another ten grand out of it if you go toss a set of -125 negative offset wheels with rubber band tires on it. Install a 12 foot CB antenna (don't worry about an actual radio though). Throw a little mud on it for the authentic touch. Also get a hacksaw out and cut off the muffler and resonator.

But seriously, you missed the train ride you are looking for a while back.

All great advice here. For getting what your asking price, @OFC Ranger offered a fantastic approach. Private sale like @2020XLT mentioned is great. Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are pretty good for private sale. But fielding inquiries, spam, and window-shoppers can be a giant pain in the ass.

For this reason, my wife and I sold her car on Carvana during the used-car madness last year. Sure, we may have gotten 1k more by selling privately, we didn't want to deal with the other crap. The process was painless. All said, the process took 4 days from start to finish, with them picking up the vehicle at the house and gone in 20 minutes. Carvana offered nearly the same that my wife has bought the car 6 years prior. Would I buy from Carvana? Probably not. Would I sell again if the price was right? In a heartbeat.

Accessories and add ons in general add about $0 extra unless you are selling to a private party that has an interest in those specific items.
Very true on the add ons, but if you have installed a DEE ZEE damper that will make a difference

In my dabbling I noticed that for some reason XLTs get better offers. IDK why but maybe things have shifted to better offers for Lariat now.. I know it’s an upside down thing. Weird…

Another option is to meet them in a AAA parking lot and transfer title right there once funds are verified. I did this with a cop who bought my bike a few years ago. I didn’t know he was a cop but he said that it’s probably the best way to sell a vehicle he’s ever heard of!!!

I drove past the stupid carvana vending machine the other day and it was empty. Anybody else notice this?
