I think that delays are caused by:
  • The normal holiday load
  • Folks out or quarantined because of Covid causing absenteeism
  • Vaccine delivery has priority over just about everything at whatever delivery service your package is coming on

I haven't had any problems with Amazon but that's because they have a huge presence in my area. There are 3 huge warehouses (900,000 sq ft) that have gone up in the past 2 years here. I don't have Prime but usually get my stuff overnight or within a day or two.

Now the USPS is another story. We just mailed out two Priority boxes last Thursday and she said they might get there before Christmas but can't guarantee it. I thought that's the whole idea of spending extra for Priority shipping? They wanted $76.00 for a Saturday guaranteed delivery. 99% of the time we use either UPS or FedEx but I had 2 Priority boxes already here and my gf needed to send a few gifts back to Chicago.

Now as far as mail goes and those saying what about Jim Bob who lives way out in the sticks. You can get everything you need online now a days. I very rarely get any mail besides junk! All my customers pay me either through Zelle, Paypal or Venmo now. I receive all my bills through email and pay all of them through online banking or by credit card. I can't remember the last time I sent out a letter or payed a bill by mail. I wish I could run my business like USPS runs theirs and still get paid...overpaid.

Yeah they're taking over everything and I don't see this as a good thing either. I still try my best to not buy from them because as soon as they monopolize the market (which they almost have) they will be able to do whatever they want to. It's hard though because they make it so easy with their inventory and fast delivery. Well at least here. lol

They built one on an old Ford plant property a mile from me and it looks like something out of a science fiction movie; MASSIVE white walled building with no windows. We all thought it would be good for local businesses that would profit from the employees that are there but most of them take the bus from Detroit and it is so advanced, it doesn't even require all that many employees.

Bezos wealth has increased from last March to June by $48B , he could become the worlds 1st trillionaire by the end of the decade, possibly by 2026 . He's may be worth over $200B currently, compare that with Ford Motor Co I believe has a marker cap of approx $36 B .

Not sure if I did the math correctly but at $200B one could buy 6 million Ford Rangers or 55 Ford Motor Companies if he was really into Ford.

Well not sure what the city of Detroit is valued at but Bezos might be able to buy it outright and then some:sunglasses:

I thought it was going for $3.57 but it's the upkeep that gets you!

hahah, mail is a SERVICE, not a RIGHT. Rights are what are listing the Constitution and Amendments (end of civics 101 LOL) and God only gives us the gifts to do what we do to ourselves... like mail SERVICE:LOL:
Did you know that the post office is actually called out in the Constitution? I'm guessing you don't. Maybe you should read up on it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_Clause

I just bought a set of wheels. They left Georgia by FedEx, went to California, back to New Jersey, and on to Indiana. And, it's only a 5 hour drive from my house in North Carolina to where they were shipped from. I'm sure there is a method to that madness, but I'm hard pressed to know what it would be.
