I don't see what the problem is. I've driven like that a million times. You can see plenty enough with a hole like that. In fact, I've driven with less visibility than that before.
I've done that too and while it's not advisable there was enough cleared to see driving the short distance he did. Not like this guy.

In fairness and honesty in relation to what Dave @AzScorpion said. Duplex Baptist Church is roughly 5 ish miles from the house, so about 10 miles round trip just see what the road was like at a slow pace. If I had been driving from work in Sherman or to Bonham. I would take the time to clean the windshield more thoroughly.

Went grocery shopping! Yeah I know it's not exciting but now that the snowbirds are here you either have to go early at 6am when they open or after 6pm because that's when they're all getting ready for bed. lol

Here's what you encounter when you go during the day. o_O

Hey, those little carts can be tricky. Some years ago my wife broke her leg and used one of those chairs for a while. I will just say it is a good thing I can do drywall repairs.  In her defence it was hard to control in close spaces. Used a joystick and steered with the back wheels like a zero turn lawn mower.

Seeing the video makes me think maybe that's why Kroger discontinued Senior day at the grocery.:)

With all the dumb driving stories, I thought I would add my own. I drove from Madison, In to Effingham IL Saturday evening and caught the worst of the snow west of Indy. I started to notice cars passing me that looked like they had headlights on but no tailights. Guess they were running daytime lights and the tailights don't work. I had a van pass me like a train passing a hobo only to catch up to him a few miles down the road. I figure he may have slid around, had a come to Jesus meeting and decided it was best to slow down. The Ranger did me good but I drove like I wanted to see another sunrise.

Nice! You would be amazed here in snow country the number of people who clear some of the windows and leave all the snow on the roof then take off down the interstate. Highly illegal since that tends to come off in a sheet and gets deposited on the rigs behind them! No, that won't cause a wreck. 🙄

Yeah I understand what you're saying Mel. I tried to see if I could get that stuff off the tonneau cover, but it is about 4 inches thick and if you look at the picture close up, there is ice on top of the snow. Which makes the ground out here like a really messed up ice skating rink.

Yeah, we get those idiots around here too. It's probably an even mix of new immigrants from tropical climes who just don't understand how dangerous that actually is and entitled snobs who think that neither the laws of justice nor of physics apply to them.

At that kind of depth, a brush won't have the strength. You need to take a shovel to it and scoop off as much as you can without touching the truck, then take the brush to what's left. The ice probably isn't that thick, so it'll crack apart as you shovel the snow away. You can also tap on it a bit to crack it up, kind of like it was a giant soft-boiled egg.

Today I'm getting new Michelins on my 21 fx4 Lariat. Originals still had life @40k miles but about to leave in our travel trailer for a few months, so want to be safe.
Getting this done at the dealer, painfully slow been here 2 hrs so far. Got first appt of the day as I knew how slow they were, didn't matter. At least I have the time but getting bored so I'm reading and posting here, beats watching kelly ripa on the big box here in the waiting rm.

Finally free, 2.5 hrs. I'll focus on the good. What a difference. Weird that truck seems to be riding higher. Country roads up here, somewhat snow covered as they've cut back on salt. Ride to dealer with old tires I had it in 4 wdh , ride home with new tires in 2wd and felt more positive. Can't wait to get on clear roads at highway speed. Glad I made the change.

I've got over 50K miles on the original Bridgestone Duelers, but when I finally do replace them it will be with Michelin. Which ones did you get?

I know that stuff is still on the back of the truck. I had to slow crawl to the grocery store and Scavenge for what I could find that I needed.
Same as Sunday just with a clear ish windshield to look through.
