What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Yes torn quadriceps tendon. Almost completely detached from my patella. Needed a full surgical repair. That pic was the morning after surgery.
1 month in a locked leg brace, then another two months in the same brace with crutches, but progressively unlocking it to 90 degrees, the last couple of weeks I have discarded the brace, learning to walk again, can now walk unaided but carry a stick for stairs, or uneven ground. I'm still trying to recover my full range of motion, it may take up to 12 months to return to something like normal again I'm told.
Hopefully I'll get official clearance to drive to work on Monday.

Yes I've started walking now again, I used to do 4-5Km a day on average before the accident, now I'm slowly building up again. My first walk of about 250 metres nearly killed me a couple of weeks ago, how fast we get so weak! I'm up to about 1 km now without issue.

Yes I need to do the same thing, summer over here here is of course Dec, Jan, Feb. That's when I do most of the tree clearing and trimming around our acerage. Unfortunately the day before I did the damage to me described above last Christmas, I had dropped quite a few trees that were encroaching on our fence over on the far side. Intending to come back, and lop them up the next day, for winter firewood. Well that didn't happen. ? I might just be able to manage that now, but not sure how I'm going to get the wood back yet. Originally I would simply fill a wheelbarrow, and wheel it back, the Ranger won't fit the access unfortunately. Maybe it's time to buy a trailer for the ride on....

Drove it into town to deal with some banking, go to the hardware store and grab a few things in the Walmart.

It rolled past 5000 miles on the way home. I'm putting roughly 1,200 miles on it per year.

And here it is below in its natural habitat, on the battery minder.* lol.

I'm apparently retired now and it still gets driven only once or twice a month.

If it wasn't on the battery minder, the battery would be dead. That "click/tone" sound under the hood you hear when you open the door is happening every 45 seconds now. :| I guess I get to talk to the local dealership about it next week.

Edit: I took the negative cable off the battery so it doesn't sit there and "click/tone" all day and night.

Even though I have a 6g now, I'll post here...drove to Spring Carlisle today for car flea mkt stuff. I bought a 2019 Ranger Raptor! Yup...for 3 bucks. Couldn't pass it up, it's #2 of 10 in the Hot Wheels Hot Trucks series. I think others include the F150 Raptor and Bronco Raptor. I already had 2 other Ranger Hot Wheels, one in white, which I'm trying to pass off as my new 6g Olaf, and another I painted HPR to match my old Pepper.
Olaf rode well, 264 miles round trip, 24.8 mpg...no sign of @Johnny O ...but was happy to see at least 4 other 5g's along the way!
And for my friends in the great white north, where the heck is Elfrida, Ontario?

Well then I musta been there, used to hit Hamilton (Dofasco) a lot when I was working...St. Catharines, Grimsby, Gretzky's winery, plus lots of time in Simcoe, Port Dover and Nanticoke (Stelco)!

so the 33's do fit on the stock sport rims just fine. but at full steering wheel crank they do rub the crash bars a hair. and part of the crash bar frame .I expected the crash bars. Have them already just not installed. i didnt expect them to touch the crash bar frame. so i may need some spacers for the front or wheels with a different off set. the budget friendly route is spacers. the safer route is wheels. the 33s look smaller than i thought they would. at first i thought they put on 265 70 17s again. no verdict on the new rubber yet as I have only made about 20 miles on them. no loss in go power and the ride is a bit softer. The coopers have a softer rubber than the ko2. i assume they will be better in loose dirt and mud but not as good on rock, sand, mixed trails. we shall see.

So what size did we go with? I'm thinkin' 275/70-18.

You’ve been all over that region Trevor - I should be asking you where places are. ? The Hammer used to be a much bigger steel town than it is these days. There’s still a lot going on but not like in its heyday. The Niagara wine region is on my list of places to move to, either this year or next.

So what size did we go with? I'm thinkin' 275/70-18.

the ones in that picture are 285 70 17, appx a 33 inch tire. im swapping new rims saturday to see if the offset fixes the rub issue.

Took True North for a quick trip to visit my FIL and drop off a house warming gift (new digs for him). The Ranger was washed just the other day and had a fresh coat of 404. It was looking great in all its Shadow Black glory.

I was stopped at a light when I was back in the city and a military band was piping some troops into the Armoury near a men’s shelter - a short procession - I like the sound of a pipe band so I lowered both windows to take it all in. A few pedestrians were gathered as it passed, LEOs were escorting the group and holding back traffic. After they passed, this salty, old street guy with more fingers than teeth looks over at me, makes eye contact, and says, “That ain’t your grandfather’s Ranger!”

Made my day.
