Took the Ranger in to the dealer for it's 10,000 mi Works Pkg (actually 9600 mi...since Dec '19). Oil life was at 5%. There was some recall they said too, but it was only putting a new page in the owners manual - Thats a recall??? I thought the bill was pretty cheap at $53.
Anyway we saw a new Bronco in Rapid Red, Sasquatch which was cool, but the sales guy said they had to hold on to it for 6 months before they sell it. Also picked up a Maverick brochure, nice marketing job on that.
There was a definite lack of vehicles, no new Rangers, only a used 2020, and it was listed at over $40k! One Mustang, 1 Bronco Sport, an Escape and some other stuff, but a ton of used cars. I said to the sales manager it looked more like a used car lot. Now my wife is thinking of swapping her 17 Escape for the '21 on the lot...we'll clean it up and see what they offer her. A used 2018 there was listed at $27k which is crazy!

Washed and waxed. Took me 4 hours to do the Ranger and the wife's Mazda B-Series. Plugged those pesky holes in the rocker panels. Added the missing tow hooks those cheapskates left off and have an engine cover to fit thanks to @FordLevittown.

Are those just little rubber or plastic plugs? May I ask what diameter you needed to get? Would I find something like that at Home Depot? Sorry if these sound like stupid questions, but I'm going to plead the I'm a woman card on this one.

You need 3/4 inch rubber hole plugs, also called cap plugs.
Best to buy them in quantity on Amazon if you shop there. Lowes and Home Depot have packs of 2 or 4 and price is outrageous...
Pack of 25 on Amazon is $11.00

Another Friday, another day the Ranger serves as a grocery getter.

I'm able to park next to the same vehicle every Friday morning and I'm sure it's an employee. Not sure why they don't park next to the island, but at least it makes a safe place for me to park.

Just look at that sporty dent-free Supercab! lol.

OK, this probably isn't the right place, but it's a followup to my dealer visit the other day.

Took my wife to the dealer to check out the 2021 Escape, she liked it because it was white like her last 2 and a Titanium pkg (though it was $41k) and we were talking a deal, trading in her 2017. He worked up numbers using my X-plan PIN which I generated from the steel company I retired from. It was a good deal, and we agreed to do the purchase on 8/31, because of the rebate (note this dealer is not adding a "Market Adjustment"...BUT...

Then he scratched his head and checked his computer and said that he got a memo from May that Ford was cracking down on X-plan sales and retirees of partners and that I didn't qualify anymore. I bought my last 5 Fords since 2009 using that plan. Basically I retired from Bethlehem Steel, who supplied the sheet for stampings, and was a Q1 supplier. They went bankrupt, I retired with 32.5 years, but the pension was taken over by the gubmint... called PBGC! So my checks come from them. To make matters worse, Beth Steel was bought by the infamous Wilbur Ross and became International Steel Group (ISG) who was then bought by Mittal Steel, which then became Arcelor Mittal, the largest steel company in the world. All thru this, my X-Plan was accepted. Even on my Ranger from THIS dealer. Now Arcelor Mittal sold all the US steel plants to Cleveland Cliffs, who also owns AK Steel and large iron ore mines. They are the largest steel company in the US. So my Beth Steel service is like 4 times removed. I have no current company ID, pay stub, W2, or benefits card. So the dealer is throwing a curve, AFTER we agreed to the trade and X-plan. Bottom line is loss of $500 rebate and a lot of the X-Plan discount. He's saying he will get as close as he can, but it will be another $500. I'm not sure if he is pulling a fast one, trying to make an extra grand, or is telling the truth.

Has anyone heard Ford has changed the X-plan criteria? Thanks...Trevor

Not exciting but we took the wife grocery shopping today and parked next to this cool cactus gray? I think Pepper was putting the moves on it, when we came out, they got real quiet, but at least she still had her bra on!

Also Pepper got a friend on Friday, my brother-in-law bought the sole Ranger at our local dealer. He was so liking mine, and got the bug. If I hadn't gotten the HPR, this is probably what mine would look like, white with the black package...woulda been my 4th white Ranger.

Hello, sorry for late reply, I see the question has been answered. Happy plugging!

I brought this stick/mig/flux-core/tig welder home today :)

I have a stick welder now, but have never done the others. Aluminum welding was the primary reason for a new welder, really looking forward to some winter projects.

Drove to agri shop and hauled 700kg (1400lbs) wheat seed to farm for autumn planting. Discovered that the mountaintop rolling bed cover takes out 10 inch of the bed and the wide body FIBC did not fit to the bed. Had to keep the tail gate open and load the FIBC to touch the bed cover. Strapped it tight tho with multiple straps, most were removed before the pics tho as I figured late that I need a pic for the forums.

Have to say that it's really back heavy on that configuration and have to think if I need to lose the rolling bed cover and replace those aerodynamic bed sides to standard pipes if I need to haul more of these wider FIBCs. Slimline (for heavier stuff) fit in the bed nicely.

After this I went and pulled 90+ old neighbor's car from a ditch. It was ditched in a steep hill (not really, just 12 degrees) on a driveway which only fits one car. Took a good look of the sides and noted that I can't pass the car. So I had to drive another road to top of the hill and then go through the forest to get to his house and the back down the driveway to his car, hook it up to recovery points and pull it to top of the hill. I'll count is as today's good deed.

Didn't have a pull-rope with me so I had to put two straps as loops to get few ton rating for pulling the car out. The Raptor had zero issue in pulling it and I think even if he's stepped on brakes there wouldn't have been any issue. This I forgot to take a picture tho.
