Well, I was just going to change the oil and rotate the tires, which I did, but I got fed up with the rubber flap clips, which was my fault, after some of the Ford screw/clips failed on the last oil change. I dug through the clip drawer and found some Honda barbed clips, stuck them in, it was fine. Until I had to remove them for this oil change, I had to mangle them out.
Holy hell yea I thought and attempted this too, but my rivnut tool didn’t allow for space. That’s sick I love it

So I broke out the Nut Sert kit and put in 5mm steel inserts, I do want to get better bolts, the kind with the captured washer.

I know, would have been much easier to get the proper clips, but they are not so great even when they are new.

I’d like to have a mobile, but hate the idea of wires too…. That and ops in my area are too snooty to talk on 2m/70cm ?
I got mine because I worked really hard for the test and now I can use it. lol. Not a lot of traffic on the waves here, right now, but it gives me options. I’m trying to talk my wheeling buddies into getting their license and a MT too. GMRS is seriously overcrowded here. I’ve never had a day where we didn’t get someone else on the channel.

I’ll post up when my new mount arrives, and you’ll be able to see no wires from the drivers seat.

GMRS has exploded. I have the license and Wouxon handheld for that too. I actually pick up on occasion traffic on 2m here but the very crowd that got me into amateur radio will sit all day listening to your CQs and ignore you lol

I am not a fan of government oversight, but the fact that there is no test means anyone can jump on for $35 (if you choose to pay). Plus, the limited frequencies. We also have repeaters here, on every channel, which means I get the Morse code call sign broadcast constantly. And you can’t get on a channel that doesn’t have a repeater. So… HAM it is. Now to get the rest of my people on amateur radio.

Had my battery replaced under warranty. 2022 XLT Tremor with 15.7K. Had been getting the Ford Pass app alerts off and on. Never had a problem starting or any other issues. Monitored voltage via OBD scanner and it was charging fine but never getting above 12.1 volts. Was running about 11.1-11.5 volts key on cold and would drop down to 9.6-10.0 volts cold cranking. Dealer did a warranty battery test and said it was low but not enough to replace it. They said they would do a charge on it if I wanted to wait another 35 minutes. I said go for it. Service advisor came back after about a half hour and said the battery failed the charge and they were putting a new one in under warranty.

I pick up a lady in the neighborhood talking to her kid on GMRS on occasion. The kid sounds barely old enough to be talking. I’d bet money they have no license and aren’t even aware that you’re supposed to. Ham is for sure the better solution with the congestion on GMRS.

Gmrs is a family license.

Not a per user license.

Yes. I was just saying I’d bet the family doesn’t have a license and most of the people who buy the blister pack FRS/GMRS radios use the GMRS channels also without reading the FCC regulations.

Most people exceed the speedlimit too... Shrug.

RETIRED!
Today was a big day for me and the Ranger. I spent several hours removing almost all of the mods & upgrades that I've done to it since I bought it. Some things were more trouble that they were worth to remove so I left them on.

Now there is a big pile of Ranger stuff sitting in the garage that I need to dispose of.

Anyway, as of late this afternoon, she is sitting on the dealers lot with 477.7 miles on it.
If anyone needs a virtually NEW Tremor, I suspect it will be available tomorrow.

The empty stall in the garage was filled with a 2024 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab 4x4 with the 3.0L Duramax Diesel.
