No need to remove the console. A fellow member made a video on it. Let me find that link.

Looks easy as hell. Plus I can justify buying that binder clip pack on amazon....

My boots still in good shape and might trade it in next year but this will definitely be a quick repair if the need arises.

How are these holding up in cold climates? I found a crack in my boot. Don't know if I should warranty it or replace it. If these are holding up better, I don't mind just paying it out.

Installed my new parking brake boot from Redline. Lots softer than the original in the cold and now dont have to push the brake lever down to overcome resistance of original stiff boot.
You must have a tailgate damper!???

Only time will tell.

My OEM boot was cracked and I had about 11k miles on it. Ford would have replaced under warranty, but it would have required two trips to dealer (assess need first then install second trip) and me using my leave from work for both times. It was cheaper and more convenient for me to order the Redline boot from Poland and install it myself.

Traded it in on an Explorer ST.

It's a bit of a long story.

The 2024 Mustang 500HP announcement caused a reaction in my gut. It's been a couple of years since I had a "fun" car, so I started Mustang shopping. I came REAL close to buying 1, but had 2nd thoughts about the money and dealing with having 2 vehicles. A Mustang GT is not real practical as a sole vehicle, so I would have kept the Ranger.

I started looking at something that would have some power and still be (kind of) practical and the Explorer fit the bill. If the Dodge Durango SRT wasn't so expensive it would have been an easy choice. IMO the Explorer ST is a better vehicle than the Durango RT.

My powerful cars have always been toys, with a daily driver. This will be an interesting experiment!

I will be stopping by to see what you all are up to. And for the record - My Ranger had a tailgate damper, so I was 1 of the cool kids.
Nice!

I covered then other side of the board and the edges. I have one edge left and I’ll be ready to bolt it in. Lesson learned: flex seal is a gigantic pain to cover flat surfaces. If I do this over (read version 2.0) I will use a different coating.

Not letting 55 degrees go to waste so I was outside on Dec. 29 at 9:30 pm washing my truck under the street lights. Which is 60 degrees warmer than it was this time last week. Truck was so filthy you didn't even want to touch the door handles to get in.

Mine has shown no signs of any problems in the cold.

My hand brake boot has been replaced under warranty twice now. It's time to get one from Redline. The third one is cracking now too. I do use my parking brake anytime I park and my truck unfortunately sits outside as it won't fit in my older houses garage. That might help out the vinyl from cracking. I just ordered one from Redline

Drug it across the country last week....

Its bad when a U-Haul has a nasty squat to it.

You should have opted for the FX4 equipped U-Haul truck!
