Doing a quarter panel at a time. Lol. The turtle seemed good? I do have a lot, and a lot of rock chips. ? paint is super thin
ill say this the ranger has thin paint but nowhere near as bad as my 19 si had... the car was white and the plastic under the front bumper was black so it showed everything!

Spark plug change with new Motorcraft plugs. Old plugs in pictures are from front(left) to back of engine(right). 59,000 miles. I must also get some water in the back plug based on the rust. Although it was not any more difficult to remove than the rest.
Gotta love the desert SW. I don't have that much rust on the whole truck and it's parked outside.

Soupie is getting more complete every day! Easiest thing I've done yet with very satisfying clicks as they popped into place.

Plus, more holes are now filled in! =D

I suppose, these could have an impact on engine noise (probably as much as the engine cover does). I think the mouse family will have a more pleasant winter now.

Even though it's 35° out and the rubber might be stiff, I just had to install the hood bumpers. And it reminded me of another deleted item: hood struts.

I used a little silicone paste (probably not needed, they slot in easily).

And the bunny faces in for proper install (thanks @RedDakooter05).

Now the hood will rattle less and not annoy the engine cover mice.

They deleted the hood struts??? That's one of my favorite things about my '21 Lariat.

I leveled it and made it ride like a Cadillac for under $20.00 ?. 3 bags of wet sand at 200 pounds total was what the engineers must have used for testing. May keep it there year round.

Ed I have a couple of those sand tubes in back too. I will leave them in until spring then take them out. They are sure nice to have back there!

It’s been a while since I did anything to the Ranger… Which means I was overdue!

So over the last couple of days I installed an SVC Off-road light/bull bar, and a flood/spot ARB Solis 36 combo. I also fabbed up some extra braces for the bar since it flexed more than I liked. Ended up w/2 16-gauge steel braces extending from the center of the bar to the slots in the bumper where the plastic license plate holder was snapped on. Still need to make a new plate holder for the bar.

Yes! and Bah on them!

My '22 had the prop rod, and for some reason, probably my past experience with trucks, struts are just a part of it.

So I installed the aftermarket ones and am very happy. But I no longer wrench on engines, apart from filter and oil changes, so it was purely for my own enjoyment that I added them.

That looks so good! I would like to do similar with large, old school KC Daylighters like I had on my FJ40.

Thanks for the pics and how you reinforced it. =)

Had another extra chip key (not a valet) made today from a Ford blank because I lost the previous one. Met Chris (a key-maker) at a dealership (he contracts with different dealerships and goes to their sites on certain days to make keys for their customers) to have it made. $50. I insert the key into a flash drive case and attach it to a belt loop so I will always have a backup key on my person in case I lose the Fob key.
