I had a 2018 Escape SEL 4WD (really an AWD, but that's what it said on the chrome). Soon after I bought it, I joined the escape.org forum and got that vibe you get when you go on a blind date and really hope it will go ok now that you've met each other, but you're getting a sinking feeling. It seems like starting with the 3G (2013-19) the car has been plagued with problems, the worst being coolant intrusion into #2 or #3 cylinders, mostly on the 1.5L Ecoboost I-4, but now more people reporting the same thing with the 2.0. I never had a problem with mine, but tik-tok...
I ordered a 2021 Ranger XL 4X4 SuperCab, sold the Escape to Carvana. and got more for it than the dealer offered, even if I had traded it in on the spot. No surprises, simple procedure and they came out and picked up the Escape at no extra charge. Good experience, I would deal with them again.
Mrs Motorpsychology & I will be celebrating our 42nd year (in a row!) anniversary later this year. To celebrate, we are remodeling our 1/2 bath. Well ok, and the Ranger. So now, we are getting by with one full size bath and our '09 Mariner for awhile. When we were first married, we had a one bedroom, one bath apartment and a 12 year-old '67 Chrysler Newport. What goes around comes around, I guess.
