Last year the worst I got stuck was coming down a ledge and almost crushing my tailpipe.
Saw someone in the Facebook group making fun of someone with a side exit because it would be bad for obstacles.
What is the best way to go to protect the exhaust?

Probably get an over the rear axle turn down.. it sticking out the side or the dual rear exit by the rear bumper it’s bound to get tagged at some point….
The AWE exhaust has a neat feature..

It has a point after the rear hanger that the side exit part can be temporarily removed (for off road fun).. so it’s basically giving you the option to have a turn down over the axle for off road and put the side exit back on when you get back onto the paved roads… but it would mean having to purchase said exhaust.. and well hopefully it has a sound you like..

i suppose I didn’t really answer your question tho…. Sorry

Before you make any modifications to the bed or bumper, perhaps you should lift the rear with the front end of the truck?! I did just that with my 2019 and didn't have any major problems with hitting the bed or the bumper when traveling off road

I am on a 3.5" lift on 33s. This summer's upgrades will be offroad bumpers. I just don't want to get stuck fooling around for 30 minutes just to protect my tailpipe again.

Apologies for how that last sentence may sound.

Another high clearance exhaust option is the Thermal R&D kit, full stainless, 3" catback for about 600 bucks. Offers a nice deep tone but its no louder in the cab than the fake noise (which when i turned off i couldn't tell a difference) but you can hear it with the windows down and its nice. Oh and it sounds mean on a cold start which I love.

OEM exhaust is ugly as shit after it tarnishes.

Just cut it off and add a turndown tip for like $20. The trick is to push the exhaust out from under the truck so it doesn't sit under the truck while idling.

Carven has an axle dump option as well, I put it on mine. Been on there about a year now, still really like the sound throughout the rpm range and it's up high enough you won't doink it on a rock

About $400-$450 if I remember correctly.
