Just wondering what’s on the menu for tonight. Whether you’re in front of the stove, the grill, or ordering in, or heading it (where you can), what are your dinner plans?

Here in downtown Toronto, it’s Spaghetti Night, with a healthy twist - turkey and multigrain pasta instead of the usual. Man, I sure miss the usual.

Time to get to work.

Buon Appetito!

Now, to let things simmer and enjoy a glass of red!

That was well worth the wait.

Try Spaghetti ( lean ground turkey ) with spiralized raw Zucchini noodles! Not bad at all! It's what we had today.

You're braver than I am, I've never tried it either Ed. It just never looked good.??

Taste like chicken? ?
Tastes like turkey bacon with some unidentifiable additives. I fried it crispy and did some over easy eggs with it so I could dip it in the yokes. In an emergency it definitely is better then crow.

We have the attachment for our blender and have done that a few times Tony and it’s great - you can also use the “noodles” to make a Thai salad.

I am severely allergic to gluten. We had to find substitutes for breads, pasta, and a host of prepared foods that have gluten hidden in them. 10 minutes after eating gluten my heart rate goes up about 10 BPM, and BP climbs to 145 / 90. I then get sick to my stomach for 3 days....then back to normal. BP drops to 115 / 70 and heart rate to 55 bpm. It is like clockwork.

I have learned to love paleo and dash diets! We prepare all our meals, no eating out or eating industrial foods - can't trust the labels - they lie! We use pressure cookers once or twice a week to prepare meals quickly for the rest of the week. Package and feeze them in serving sizes. Saves lots of time, and $$.

We prefer the nice straight noodles and also make a wonderful sweet relish from them. Works wonderful for shoestring French fries also.

We freeze dry our foods for our pantry. Both raw foods and prepared meals. No need for electricity. Store in dark cool room, and it will last 25+ years.

We purchased a nice solar oven for camping / power outage use, but I quickly tired of going out every 20 minutes to keep it focused. So I built an inexpensive passive solar powered base that tracks the sun. Works great! We tested on a 20F clear day, and achieved 375F in 15 minutes time. And it cooks without burning the food.

Well I had to finally try Spam. Never had it before and wanted to knock it off my bucket list. Well all I can say is I wonder what is really in it ?. Guess in an emergency I could feed the neighborhood with the case I bought at Costco for the pandemic.
