Welcome back Dave! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. This was really a wonderful journal of your adventures. You really seemed to have made the most of your time. Money Pit the Second is properly broken in now, I suppose, and in the best way imaginable! Glad you're both home and Annie can get the knee on ice. :)

Thanks Adam! Yes MP2 seems to be fully broke in and going good so far. 🤞

We did take a few days off to just chill but I get restless sitting around for to long on vacation while she likes to relax a little more than I do. I think I over did it on our last hike on Tuesday because her knee is pretty swollen now. Luckily it's gone down some since yesterday and doesn't hurt as bad. It's my fault as I need to remember she's had surgery on it and she's really not an "outdoorsy" girl but she has grown to like it more and more.

Tell her, as the saying goes, "When in Rome..." You were in some of the most picturesque locations not only in our Country but on the Planet! A price to pay, sure, but the payoff must be grand.

So very true! But I'll tell her that once her knee feels better otherwise I don't think she'll take it well.

Thanks Mark! It was really fun and I glad everyone enjoyed with us. Now I need to find a relaxing place to chill for a few days.

 I know, my new torture I mean relaxation room in the basement. See you all in a week. 😉:ninja:
You'll want to wait until you've rested a bit more before you pull the lever beside fireplace. There's a pivoting hearth that spins you into a smaller, more...intimate room.
Enjoy!!!

The didn't have any fireworks in PS because it was so dry there and they had fire warnings. Go figure I come back and last night all I hear is fireworks going off here. lol Guess they (AZ) doesn't care that it's dry here and getting worse with 118 temps coming. Heck it's only 9:00AM and it's already 95*. 🥵

These high temps (115-118) hit us in June but these last two years they seem to be coming in July now. Usually right around the second week of July the monsoon season kicks in and we'll get higher humidity and the temps will be down under 110. Idk I guess if I had to pick my poison I'll take the higher temps and low humidity, for me it's easier to deal with. Once it gets over 112 it really doesn't matter it's just hot!

The last time I was in Phoenix it was 109 degrees at 930 pm. That was 37 years ago…I have not been back.
That's still pretty common throughout the summer. What's tough is by August when you get up at 5:00 am and it's already 89* out and humid. It's definitely toasty out now with this heat wave and at 6:00 am now it's already 85*. But honestly after being in cold damp rain for a good part of our trip this really doesn't bother me much....yet. I hate being cold, damp and looking at gloomy skies for days so we suffer for the 3 hottest months . 🥵

With this heat wave it's already 92 at 5:00 am now in July. I just cooked chicken on the grill tonight and didn't even have to turn the burners on.🤣

Wow that's some hail you get there. There must of been a lot of damage from that storm? Well, on the bright side in a couple weeks your winter starts. 😜
