An interesting blog note on the Cold Response 2022 exercises.

It seems that a Finnish HQ and Signal company, a command & support element for fighting troops, is able to take out an US Marine company. Wouldn't think that a HQ element would beat a front line element in CQB.

I was there for CR '20 but it got cancelled due to COVID becoming a big deal about 2 days into the exercise. Still got to do some cool cold weather training!

Did duty at NH San Diego, Bremerton, Camp Pendleton, and 29 Palms as IDC for a Marine artillery unit.
back to the Reserves with duty with 4th MarDiv Kansas City. Was attatched to FH 22 which was deployed in Gulf War as FH 6.

Air Force got the best facilities, bases and mess halls. We used to go to Kadena Air Base mess hall, they got the best chow.

Best chow I ever had was on a Navy ship, but the AF does have the best bases & Facilities, it's all the money they save not having to buy gloves

Navy '86 - '90. VP-11 P-3 submarine hunters. Aircraft structural mechanic. Never set foot on a ship. Talk about gravy. Did Rota Spain, Keflavik Iceland, Sigonella Sicily, and many European and beyond short-term dets.

I was with 4th Mar Div after 1993 active duty with 4th Tanks and Med Battalion in San Diego for couple of years. I had a lot Corpsman friend in 11th Marines at that time.

Way different era but I was a cannoneer in 2/10 2016-2020
