I’m sorry to hear this is an issue currently. This is my first vehicle with LED lights, and it’s turned out to be one of my favorite parts.

I didn’t know what I was missing until I drove it at night for the first time.

While I’m upset about this, it’s not deterring me from going through with the order. I’m definitely not happy about it, but aside from the headlights it’s still the truck I want. Just something I’ll upgrade eventually. Too much $$ in parts (including a non-refundable deposit on a color matched shell) to pull out now

Same here, I'll stick with the order. I have a non-refundable deposit with the dealer on the order - perhaps that's not actually enforceable given this change, but needing some truck for towing, and the agreed on deal for the Ranger, I too am staying put. But will be trying for a larger number from Ford -- not the dealer and not even working thru the dealer.

I had a Mini Cooper order get held up because the EPA held up the release of the model year that Mini made individual accommodations / deals with affected parties. But, that was Mini and years ago, whereas this is Ford and today's crazy supply issues.

$500. credit is definitely a no go unless they agree to upgrade to the LED’s later when supplies catch up. The lights cost somewhere near $1200. a piece if you were to try to buy them. I have an XLT, but if I had ordered a Lariat, it would have been solely for the LED lights. The other Lariat stuff is not something I ever wanted. Ford needs to make this right for you. If they don’t budge, and if it were me, I’d just buy an XLT and add the Katzkins Leather seats.

If it were me I'd consider jumping down to XLT or XL if I could.

What are you paying for the Lariat for now? Vinyl seats? Especially if the vehicle is to be used so infrequently.

No, $500.00 is not enough IMO.

I'm waiting on a VIN for a XL 100A with few add-ons and feel lucky I don't need the added headache of package features being removed. The whole situation stinks.

im not well schooled in led or electronic markets, supply etc. but i find it hard to believe that a giant customer like fomoco cannot secure parts from suppliers. maybe im just living in a sheltered world? around here hardly anyone is sick, everyone is back at work and has been for a while. business is as it was pre covid, pre war, pre election lol for the most part. a few fast food joints closed here and some small biz that was in the red to start with. sure the media is still pimping the doom and gloom crap. but outside of that narrative bubble life is still happening. i know its not trucks trains or air freight not doing the jobs. i see them bustin tail all over dfw 24/7. does EVERYTHING come from damn china on a ship lol. even if it did are ports closed? does someone need to call capt d. at Houston and ask if the ship channel is open to cargo vessels lol. i dont mean to thread hike here but its getting annoying so many things from tp to baby formula and car parts all seem to be in short supply. if im really just ignorant or missing some factor yall feel free to educate me. similar to the issue with oil and air filters. are those manufactures struggling to get folks on the job still ? is covid or something worse in other states? and no the 500 is not near enough. esp. when the after market leds cost more, have no ford warranty and you would have to self install or pay someone to install. if they some how cause an electrical issue im sure a ford dealer would be very happy to say it was due to inferior parts put on by the customer and wash hands of it...

I read that the recent Shanghai lockdowns greatly affected our supply chain, including the automobile industry. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is related.

I would not accept a Lariat with Halogen lights and only a $500 credit. If the dealer is not willing to take another $1000 off, not counting any incentive you already qualify for I would walk from that deal. Look for one in dealer inventory with the options you want that still has the LEDs.

Also, anyone with a Lariat that wants to make it look like the newest 5G Lariat they can, I'm here for ya, I offer to swap your LED lights for my halogen lights at no charge.

I called my dealer about this, and they are going to purchase and install agreed upon comaptible LED headlights for me, as well as make any programming adjustments so they function properly.

Agreed upon as I do not expect to have them install the top of the line, but also will not accept the the entry level.

Compatible because I have seen LEDs that have been labeled as XL or XLT only, so not sure if there is some other change that is taking place outside of the physical headlight as well.

They say if the install them they will be covered in the bumper-to-bumper for 36 months, but I am also going to get that in writing.

Just a thought as a solution. Some dealers won't care, because if you walk away they will mark it up and sell t to someone else. Good (or even great?) dealers (like mine has proven to be) will want to make sure you are a satisfied customer, regardless of what Ford corporate is doing.

Now all I need is an actual production date so this actually means anything...

I would say personally for me LEDs along with the B&O were really what pushed me to the lariat over the xlt.

if there’s no other lariat features you love or need I’d jump down to xlt. My brothers xlt has most of what I have save for the headlights, stereo and leather seats (the big 3 differences I can think of)
