If position has a fuse but the owners manual says that position is unused does it have power? I want put a fuse tap in that position for my Raptor grill lights.

Thanks.

I doubt they have power. Most of them don't have the metal insert either. I'd have to look to confirm, but if they're empty, they shouldn't have power to them.

TYou can always use one of these. It's what most of us use.

Re-read my original post. Owners manual says position is unused but the position has a fuse in it. If there is a fuse in the position the metal insert must be there to hold the fuse, correct? Questiion is, will it have power?

The answer will be (Yes) I believe - But to (CONFIRM) look into the slot do you see both legs of the fuse (contacts) installed or just (1-Leg) of it.
I think what Ford they did was took all of the (Not-Used) slots and removed the contacts from the PCB somewhere in 2020 or 2021.
If the Fuse is installed and labeled as (Not Used) then there is not a (Output) wire for power coming off of the (BJB) connector, but it is wired (pinned) internally on 1 or both legs of the fuse itself.

So, if (Both) contacts are present - you have another option and that is (ADD) the contact pin into the harness connector to physically tap off of that fuse or the (Fuse-Tap) as I cannot see Ford only giving you only 1 contact pin in the (fuse location) but I do believe some have stated that this is the case for (SOME) fuse boxes.

What is the Fuse # in question? To help clarify with what the wiring diagram shows.

Sorry all. Got confused. I am using fuse 19 as airline tech has suggested in a private conversation. Confusion sometimes comes with age.

I know on the Focus RS's Rear Battery Junction Box, there are rails on one side (one bank of fuses are always hot and the other bank's power is routed through a relay that is controlled by the BCM) of the fuses and if it's unused the side that would have the connector on the end of the wire for the output from the fuse is normally empty. When I added the trailer lighting kit I wired it into a half filled slot to make it "full" and then that became the fuse for the trailer light controller.

A visual view of the wiring diagram - Helps
So as far as I know (All US Version) Rangers have Fuse #24 listed as (Not Used)
The differences come in (2020-2021) time frame as to if the internals of the Fuse Box have the needed contacts (Mounted to the PCB) and then also if the fuse is installed - does it have both sides of the contacts or just (Input Side)

If both sides are present, then you have the option to install a (socket) in the connector (C1035B)
Pin #14 to tap the power source.
This gives you a cleaner install and tap point.
If you are do not have any contacts at all and no fuse installed, then if you are handy with soldering a PCB then you can find a (Micro2 Fuse) socket terminal and solder one on the board and then add the terminal to the connector.
Yes, some extra work just to get a tapped power source, but I am giving you options over having the (Fuse Tap) wire being pinched off by the cover or having to create a slot for the wire which leaves sharp edges than will eventually chafe the wire unless you slot it and add a wire grommet.
Yes, there are drawbacks to adding a fuse tap unless you take extra precaution to protect the wire.

Use a multimeter and probe the fuse for power.
