I'm fly. I'm pilot.
Oil pressure is easier to get back to normal due to it being warm - check
Agreed

On my PowerBoost F150 if you have the oil pressure gauge up you can see that the pressure sustains for a second or two after the engine turns off. It's a small comfort.

If you ease up on the brake just a little , it usually wont shut off , I was getting fairly well at stoplights and parking that way.
I seem to learn how to park it with out shutting down on me in the garage or parking.. Guess I am easy on the break or put it into park quickly,.

I am actually seeing a pretty decent boost in mpg turning it back on. Maybe hooray Houston driving. I have also learned how to stop it from kicking in with a bit of rolling and/or low pedal pressure for right on red type situations. Not sure if I will keep it on but the extra 3mpg isn't terrible.

Mostly a maybe on keeping it on with the question lingering about did the starter get upgraded to deal with the extra starts. I have noticed an ASS start is not the same as a key'd start (even a warm start). It's like a half-ass effort by the starter but it works. The truck is ready to go before I can get from the brake to the gas even with it doing that.

In my opinion, the worst part about it is when you stop to park it will shut off the engine before you get a chance to put the transmission in Park. Then when you shift the transmission into park it will fire up the engine again. I know some just turn of the engine while still in D and then shift to park to avoid this.
Looking at getting a ranger in a week or two, whenever the dealership gets the one on their site that says in transit in.

So if I go to park someplace, the engine will shut off. That part makes sense since I'm not moving but are you saying if I leave my foot on the brake and shift it to Park and leave my foot on the brake, the truck will start back up? If so that seems pretty stupid.

So is the turning off the vehicle while still in drive and then shifting to Park an ok thing to do?
It won't mess up anything?

It hasn't on mine. I shut it off in Drive when pulling into my garage or a parking spot, then shift into Park, keeping my foot on the brake all the while. Seems to me that it is harder on the truck to shut off w/ASS then start back up, then I shut off again a second later.

Ok one last dumb question since I've never had a car with ASS.
Let's say I have ASS on when I left the house going to Walmart. Can I turn ASS off while driving in the parking lot looking for a park and when I park the truck won't auto shut off and I just do it like any normal vehicle or does ASS have to be turned off before being put into gear when leaving the house?

Mine only works only once in a while. Probably something wrong with it. LOL I think that it would save you about .002 cents per mile.

You can switch ASS off/on at any time via the switch .

You can activate the ASS Off button anytime the truck is running. It won't engage when the engine is off with the key, nor does it remember your last setting. You need to turn it back on each time you start the truck.

Thanks. I thought that was the case but also thought you could leave your foot on the brake and park without it starting so figured it's best to ask...:sunglasses:
