Little faith in humanity to have it sitting on the windshield. There was an Explorer in the shop yesterday that had the catalytic converter stolen out of it, it was a vehicle used to shuttle disabled vets.

Oh the tuner unit itself. That makes more sense. People are dirtbags anymore.

With a Ford tune you don't need to carry it around anyway. I keep my unleashed tuner unit hidden in the truck in case it ever craps out on me and needs to go to a dealer, I can revert to stock.

Yes people suck as a general whole lately. I am a nurse , it's worse there than people think.

On systems with multiple tunes, how easy and how long does it take to switch from one setting to another? For example, from a performance tune to economy?

It only takes a couple minutes to flash between tunes.

Jim, I do the same with my Livernois Mycal tuner. I have it wrapped in a small soft towel in my glove box in case something ever happens and I need it. IDK what could/would happen but I'd rather have it there just in case. I never got the suction mount because of the safety reason and I figured it's more of a pain taking it off & on every time you run into a store.

If Cobb ever starts supporting the Ranger you should be able to load multiple tunes onto the ECU and then be able to hot swap between them with with a combination of the the steering wheel controls. The Ecoboost Mustang guys do this a lot. I never saw the need with my Ecoboost Mustang but I can see it being an advantage with the Ranger.

One of the SCT handhelds (TSX??) will support this but I have not heard of any tuners using the SCT software doing it.

I ran into a similar concern with my tuned Focus ST. I just kept the tuner in the glovebox, but in case something goes screwy I wanted to maintain the ability to address it anywhere. But i always figure "out of sight, out of mind", so just don't leave it in the window all the time. You can leave your mount if you have one since most would just assume its for a phone, but just put the device away when you don't need it.
