Ridgeline features another one of those greenie innovations, cylinder deactivation . Guy I hunt with is pretty dumb, buys a subie outback because his gf has one, they break up and his new gf has a Ridgeline so he buys one, takes it hunting and with just 7.6" ground clearance the stupid thing was constantly high centering on muddy roads where higher clearance vehicles (like my ranger) made ruts. They drive really nice on the highway but off road a bust. Pretty blah appearance to boot. Dudes gf dumped him and now he's stuck with the Ridgeline and no gf. Sob.

A while back the guys from TFL took the Ridgeline off road and the transmission overheated to the point that it was stranded.

They left it on the side of the trail and went on up with the other midsize trucks.

We dont off-road at all now, so clearance isn't an issue for us. Ride comfort will be more important as we age, I'm sure.

Ranger is paid for and is an attractive feature...but if it continues to go sideways we may consider something else for real.

I find them to be a mixed bag.

Sometimes good info, sometimes cringeworthy.

I don't regularly watch their channel. Usually only if something interesting pops up when I'm searching YT.

Washed yesterday.

My vehicles only leave me stranded when they are clean. I try to clean them as little as possible. At least thats what my excuse is.

Just got off the phone with Ford. Starter solenoid dead spot they think.
Submitting claim to warranty and ordering parts. Possibly get $40 per day reimbursement for the rental so that will cover half if they agree to it.

Meanwhile, because pics or it didnt happen...

I had to run it through the car wash. It was nasty and I can't be having nastiness in my garage. Bad enough having a Taco in there!
