Do you know if ALL of those weights are new weights from this latest balance or did they leave the old weights on when they balanced your wheels and just stick the new ones on top?

It just looks like way too many weights. Maybe our good sponsor from @Discount Tire can offer their advice on this.

Road force balancers are very common. Too much weight. Probably a bad tire as others have stated.

Here’s the scenario that I went through with my 22 Tremor. Brought it in to the dealership for a vibration complaint. They put their vibration analyzer on it and isolated it to a tire vibration. They did a spin balance on all 4 tires. Added a slug of weights like in your picture to one of the tires. They called it resolved and gave it back to me. It was a bit better but it was still off. I took it to Discount Tire and they road force balanced all 4. One was waaay out of balance ( the one the dealer added weight to) and they couldn’t get it down to within acceptable range. They suggested that the tire be replaced and if Ford wouldn’t help they would contact General Tire for me. Took this info back to dealer and Ford gave me a new tire.

You could be remove all the weights, from all the tires and take it back to the dealer... If the wheel comes back with the same amount of weight, there is your anwser....

Or take it to a reputable tire specific place....

That is too much weight for a tire that size. 1st thing to check is the amount of run out of the tire/wheel assembly. all the weight in the world won't fix an egg shaped tire. If too much runout then the tire needs to be broken down & spun on the rim 180 degrees. Recheck and see what the runout is then. If still bad chances are you have a tire problem.

If some weights were new and some old, you’d have counter balancing. It’s extremely unlikely they’d land in the same place.

I took my 2022 Ford Ranger Roush eddition in to the dealership because of a horrible vibration over 60 MPH. They rebalanced the tires and said there were no issues. And said they saw nothing that would cause the vibration and they could not do anything else. But they did acknowledge the bad vibration. It has gotten even worse since having them look at it. So I was under the truck looking for anything out of the ordinary. The two-piece driveshaft is at 6° on the front section and on the back section so it does not appear to be out of alignment due to the Roush lift. I did however notice that the weights were triple stacked and double wide in areas of the rims and did not appear to be stuck very well either. Is this normal??

I agree. Looks like quite a bit of weight. I would recommend the tires be Road Force Balanced. That will most likely solve the vibration issue. At the very least pin point the root cause of the vibration. Your local Discount Tire location can inspect your tires at no charge, and give you recommendations/options to correct the issue.

That looks like a bad tire. Have them break it down, spin it 90 degrees on the rim and rebalance it. If that doesn't work, demand a new tire. They don't give discounts for factory seconds and it sure looks like you have one.

So here is the update. I had dropped it off at a local tire shop this morning and just picked it up. That wheel on their machine was calling for almost 10 ounces in one spot and 4 ounces in another spot. Also they felt like the other on the rear had a slight bend to it. They balanced everything out and rotated those to the front. The vibration definitely moved some with them to the front. So it looks like I will be burning a vacation day next week to take the truck back 2 hours to the dealership where I bought it new to see what is covered under warranty. Fun times.

Thanks for the great info. Unfortunately, my closest discount tire is over 90 miles away. I used a local place today that had issues balancing as well. So it looks like the truck will be going back to the dealership where I bought it.

i suspect a run around will soon take place. dealer will point fingers at the tire company and the wheel company. the tire company may just replace it under warranty. the wheel on the other hand will be more involved. dealer - wheel manufacturer. wheel manufacturer - dealer. all while you stuck waiting. hope that is not the case.

10 ounces on one spot tells me your rim/tire combo is seriously out of round (bent rim? maybe).
4 ounces in another spot tells me they missed the placing of the 10 ounces the first time (former tire tech, been there, done that)
