I can only state - that this may be out of norm - as I had a special order truck and the documents state the warranty start date started (BEFORE) the truck even arrived at the dealer and it matches the date it was loaded onto the rail (shipping) - so either a mis key stroke somewhere in the process or its different for special order vehicles.Incorrect. The start date is from the original purchaser as in the customer like yourself. This includes when you bought it from said dealer. Not when the dealer bought it from the manufacturer. When it comes to factory backed extended warranties, they go off the same start date.
I am only noting - what my warranty start date shows vs when I physically drove the truck off the lot (as owner) I know the exact date the truck was off loaded at the dealer the warranty start date was before this date.
Its not worth chasing (2-weeks) unless it becomes a (issue) in that timeline (If I need a warranty claim)
Example:
Blend / Build Date - 8/16 or 8/17 (Varies by document - viewing)
Release Date 8/20 - I assume to the rail yard
Warranty Start Date: 8/23 - roughly matches timeline (i got notified - shipped)
Arrived Dealer: 8/30 and await dealer processing, got to visually see it
Test Drove & Signed Documents 9/2 - await final loan processing
Finalized Paperwork and picked up truck - 9/7
So somewhere in the process - the warranty started before I took ownership and also before it shipped to the dealer - Is this normal for a (Special Order) IDK
