Transmission tech finally "diagnosed" my truck yesterday. They opened up a warrantee claim, so far they are suggesting a rebuild but won't know what they are really gonna do until the tech opens up the transmission. Good news is now that the claim is open they got me in a rental so I'm not riding my bike the 40 mile round trip commute I've done the past few days across Los Angeles 😴 its been quite the adventure. Bad news is i have a feeling i won't see my truck for another 4 weeks at least. Driving in the Ford Edge this morning really makes me miss my Ranger, especially with a camping trip on the books for July 4th weekend. If they were smart they would have loaned me a 6G raptor Im sure id figure out a way to trade up after some seat time.

Its only been a week and boy am I missing my truck. Sounds like the dealer is waiting on a torque converter to deliver estimated 7-10 days before they can start the rebuild.

I'm sorry to hear at only 47k miles.

I love and hate Ford's 10-speed. Why give it 10-speeds then program it to skip gears, go to the tallest gear available and lug the engine at steady state cruising or even at parking lot speeds? Why Ford??? If you're not going to use the 10 gears then why not just keep it at 7 gears? or 6? WTF!
The 10-speeds lazy programming has the gearbox going to top gear ASAP, therefore accelerating the wear on the clutches and generating a lot of heat.

Before I had her tuned, I would lock out the top 3 gears around town or hilly terrain. Sometimes I'd lock out the top 4 gears too. Ridiculous! In fact after the tune, with a more "assertive" shift logic, I still prefer to lock out the top 3 gears around town. It just feels more natural that way not to mention it's way more responsive when it stays away from gears 8, 9, 10!
