So, I just received my PPE deep pan and I'm just curious if anyone has had a chance to install one and might know what the correct refill volume amount is with filter replacement?

I found a lot of information and YouTube videos about the 10R80 on an F-150, but I'd prefer to hear from someone on this forum...

Dave that thread had nothing about capacity with the deep pan. I don't have a link but it seems to me I've read on here it takes an extra 1.75 qt. Just search for ppe deep pan on here and that should find you the info you're after.

Edited to correct amount.

I knew Tony @TJC had the deep pan and thought he covered it in the other link. Good find on the correct one!

If you have a FitzStick, you can quickly and easily validate the level using the Cold Fluid Level Check.
  1. Let truck sit overnight on a level surface
  2. Start struck and shift through the gears at 5 second intervals from Park to S and back to Park
  3. Immediately check the fluid level. It should be just on the tip of the dipstick up to 1/8".
At this level, when measured at 215F, your fluid will read on the diamond between 4 and 5. This is the dead center of the fluid level acceptable range per Ford Specs.

I'm running this pan and agree with the extra fluid amount.

I installed mine a few days before it was due for an oil change and had the dealer check the trans fluid level while I was there. Now I'm on record as them having verified the fluid level in case I have any warranty repairs issues.

I have a 2021 Ranger with PPE transmission pan (reg capacity.) When I installed the pan I didn't pay attention to amount drained or put back because I had to add more a few times. Could someone tell me what the capacity for drain and fill should be. TIA!!!!!

It depends. I put mine on ramps and let it sit for 24 hours. I got about 7 1/4 quarts out, including what came out with the filter. From what I have read, usually between 4 and 5 quarts. The fluid that decorated my garage floor wasn't measured, just guessed. I also used a cheap 12V oil pump from Amazon to simplify pan removal. I got the Fitzstick, so checking was easy. I used this bucket to measure what came out. Yes, planning this for months! Then I added 2 qts. for my Mishimoto Trans Pan. https://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-10-..._-301204141-_-0-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a

Harbor freight has a really nice hand operated pump that holds 4 gallons. Easy to use and see how much you sucked out. I think it was $60 and well worth it.
