yesterday i went to hook up the car trailer, all lights work, brakes worked… but nothing came up on the dash about the trailer being connected as it usually does.
a few things- trailer plug looks beat. could be that.
bad ground cause it?
last time i used the trailer i had to jiggle the plug and it worked.
worked fine with the camper last time i used it so i dont think its the truck.
ideas where to start looking?
trying another trailer today after work too.

I vote bad ground. every time I tow my boat I need to mess with the ground connection on the trailer. it's usually clean with no rust but it just doesn't like working most of the time

I had this issue and found the gel type insulation in the plug itself was deteriorating and coming out, this was actually allowing the back of the terminals to contact each other and cause the faults. Dealer installed a new trailer plug under warranty - no more problem.
