Oh! One more thing. I've owned three vehicles with remote start. In total, I think I've used the feature 4 maybe 5 times. Now if they made it so the electric seats come on too, I might be a bit more interested!
They do. My Flex and my Escape both had factory heated seats and could be set to turn on, as well as the rear defroster with the app or remote start. Rangers with factory heated seats can be set this way also.

Everyone always associates remote start with warming the car up. You can cool it down too! After a long day of delivering mail in 90+ degrees I'd start my car so it'd be cool.

I used to just roll the windows down with my key fob and wait a minute for the superheated air to escape before getting in. Doesn't waste a bunch of gas, and actually faster than trying to cool all that hot air. Wish I could do that in the ranger.

I only used the start up on upper 80s plus days. I used the window shade an left a slight crack open on all the windows. This was in a focus an fusion so those 4 cylinders didn't burn gas like a truck.

I use mine here more in the summers than winter. Although our winters can get cold at night after sitting in 110+ heat all day while at work it's like jumping into a 450* oven. ?

Based upon current events ,a lot people are sheep and do whatever they are told. People will pay unfortunately.
All depends if enough customers cough up the money for the privilege of using the remote start or not.

Hopefully enough people do this to Toyota

So others won't jump on the bandwagon.

Wouldn’t surprise me.. I mean look at the current Tacoma that they think is so great. Lol.
You watch. All the Toyota fan boys will carry on about how great the subscription is.

Based on the little girl's reaction it wasn't anything new.

And since my constant companion is Murphy's Law, if I had said something it would've been ME getting in trouble.

The mom saw the look on my face and when she realized I'd overheard her she flushed red, out of anger or shame I don't know.

Hopefully shame because it was certainly shameful.

She had 2 smaller kids in her cart. I'm betting they all get the same love and encouragement.
They are likely kids with future anxiety and depression issues, maybe an addiction two, and they will most likely repeat the cycle.
