I've towed a 2018 Hartland Mallard M27 with my Ranger on the 55mph highways (though with wet conditions I was not at that speed the whole way) for about 50 miles. No WD as it's just a rental. The owner offered a WD hitch, but the issue was at the pickup location was an unlevel/uneven yard and no level area near to really property measure and adjust it, and it was about to be pouring rain, literally as the moment I turned out of his yard onto the road the sky's opened. Really, it pulled fine and didn't have any issues. I hope to rent that unit again to compare towing it with and without WD but plan on asking if he can meet me at a level parking lot with it so he can go over the proper adjustments there for it connected to my truck. That unit is bigger than I would buy though, too heavy for going into or over mountains due to the reducing GCWR with altitude on the Ranger.

I will add, with my whole family in the truck, we had to move most of the packed travel items from the truck to the trailer since we (the passengers) are at about 650lb and the trailer TW was over 550lb. Also put my wife in the back seat since my son is much heavier than her so more weight is moved to the front axle.
