I picked up some ratchet type straps from Amazon. I'll be using them next weekend. I took them out for a test drive and they do seem to want to loosen up. I might try something similar to the bungee strap. It has to be something that won't fubar the mirror.

I use the Milenco MIL-2912 Grand Areo 3 towing mirror. They clamp on instead of using straps. Just finished a 4700 mile trip across country, 70 mph on highway, no problems. About $110/pair on Amazon.

Yup, that's what I've got.
They work great.
I clamp them on the bottom of the mirror, but it works out the same I guess.

Hi Joe,

If you clamp them on the bottom...isn't the image upside down? ?

Looks like built for ROW Rangers. That means no BLIS and your on your own to figure out how to wire them. Similar to Clearview mirrors.

Hate it when they use graphics of US spec Rangers to advertise ROW parts.

ROW is Rest Of World. Another words NOT North American. There are lost of differences between our Rangers and the ROW Rangers.

OK
Here are two pictures. The original problem is that the stock Ford mirror slopes sharply at the end and the straps slid off. The bracket holds the straps in place.

those are the style I have too. they basically did the job, but on two lane roads when a semi would pass going the other way, the mirror on driver's side kept folding in from the air pressure. Not ideal.

Check the postings in the towing section about ClearView Mirrors.
I have a set, as do some others here, and if you have the $$$, their the way to go if you tow a lot.

What do you guys think about these? The mirror aren’t as large as the others but work good for boat towing and seeing into the nasty blind spot when changing lanes. I ve got the BLIS but these have made a diff. Simple, low profile custom fit for Ranger and gets the job done.

I had McKesh with blind spots until I got Clearview. I tow a lot. It’s about all I use the truck for, so the money was worth it to me.

Do you have the power folding option on those? If I towed more regularly those are the ones I would get. Like you said about being worth it. And they look factory too!
