Nice ride, beautiful color, can we get some pictures of the front? Trying to decide if I like the new design.
Sorry for the delay, weather here yesterday was crap but we took a road trip to the mountains today and things were a bit better.

I gotta say, that looks like an electric truck. But it looks good, nice color, and it looks good with that rugged mountain backdrop. Congrats!

It still has it's grill! It's ICE! :like:

Here's hoping "Ford's Folly" is over! They raised the cost of ICE tech to go down that dreadful path, at the goading of an ill advised government.

I'm still happy with my gen5 Lariat now that I've improved the ride and refined the transmission and engine performance.

Especially now that it's paid off and I have the extended warranty. I can have some 'fun' personalizing the truck and it still fulfills everything I need.

Like fantasizing about the lottery I did price out a gen6 the way I'd want one. Putting aside the over-the-top Raptor version I built a Lariat 4x4 with the six cylinder Ecoboost with the idea you could still tune and tweak some things. It would have been almost eighteen thousand dollars more than my 2WD four cylinder original cost though I dig the heated steering wheel and step assist option on the new models.

Well, I enjoyed my time in my 2019, but finally decided the time was right to move on. I took delivery on a 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 last week, and so far I’m really liking the upgrade. The ride quality seems to be much improved and once the snow melts I’m sure that the new one will be as much fun to drive - hard to use Sport mode responsibly on icy roads…. I’m going to continue to lurk around here, you guys are more fun than a lot of the gang on 6G and I’ve gotten a lot of good ideas here (and a few not so good ones).

Here’s the new girl….

What specifically do you like about the improved ride quality? Less stiff/bouncy, anything else?

Just curious, what kind of things did you do to improve all those performances you mentioned at the top? Anything a warranty covered?

No warranty coverage on satisfaction with the ride quality. Many of us aren't/weren't happy with the factory shocks - the truck gave my wife a little motion sickness on highway trips until I swapped out the rears - in my case Eibachs. I didn't like the cartoon stance of the truck and got the Eibach adjustable front struts and set them to the midpoint. I still have a little rake and the factory progressive rate springs have some pre-load to make them a litte stiffer. To me it makes the truck handle a little 'sportier.'

I managed to get a set of Ford multi-leaf springs from a shop in the UK that was converting Transit trucks to airbag systems (something I had no interest in) and they were direct swaps for the monoleafs. The Tremor version of the Ranger has/had multileafs and the owners were saying how much more comfortable the ride was. They are more responsive to bumps and road imperfections than the single spring. It's a more refined ride and much better on the highway.

A few forum members brought up the Sumo Springs progressive bump stop and I put those on too. They clearly have frequent contact with the spring since there is a clean mark on the leaf pack but I never feel it hit or bottom out. Compared to before crossing railroad tracks is less harsh and ling sweeping curves don't pitch the inside front wheel up as easily.

The Michelin tires were a nice upgrade too.

Everyone makes this forum a better place!
Some by arriving, some by leaving.

The wife and I are looking to get a new 2025 Ranger too. Intergrated brake controller, rear locker fx2.
My 2022 has 58000 miles and lots of trailering. So why not get another new one. May not fit in my garage though. That extra inch on the new Ranger may just touch the door of the garage. We will see what we do. Dont like the front end, more car than truck but oh well, does not stay the same forever.
Wider i can live with. Would love to tow with the new one see how stable it is. But we will see, I like your new Ranger. The ride sounds better. Ill stay tuned to this thread see what more you have to say.

Hopefully i make this forum better by showing up.

Are you thinking about getting one with the 2.7 V6

No, i have to get a 4x4 with that engine. I dont need or want a 4x4, a locking rear axle takes care of all my off road needs. Would love to have that 2.7 under the hood though.

I found my 2019 to be an overall rougher ride. In this part of the world our roads take a beating during winter, lots of frost heaves and potholes. In the 2019 you felt every jolt, and I also felt the “floating” sensation on bigger bumps, as though the truck never quite knew which direction it wanted to go. The 2024 seems to have smoothed out the sharp bumps, and also seems to have stopped the floating. To be fair though, some of that may be improvements in the 6G and some may be that I opted for the FX4 this time around.

You might be pleasantly surprised. I actually feel like the 2024 fits in our garage better than the 2019 did. Part of that might be the front camera though, it really helps me use every spare inch. I did find that my 2024 is a bit taller, I whacked the antenna on the bottom edge of the garage door the night I brought her home. Guessing FX4 adds a bit of height. A stubby was her first official mod…. As for towing, I’m really excited to try out the towing goodies, unfortunately we’re still a month or more away from being close to ready for camping season.

I paid cash on this one, but I do remember the sales guy had his worksheet all ready at 4.9% for 60 months…. Glad I had the dollars available. Financing deals are still a bit hard to come by up here, unless you’re looking at a model that’s due for a redesign.
