Tie Rods

So in the process of doing my lift kit. I noticed my outer tire rods are pretty shot. And the inner ones are not holding their position so looking to replace them.

Call the dealer to try to order the parts. But it looks like they can’t get the left tie rod end, it’s back ordered for the next few months.

Is there an actual difference between the right and the left?

I can source the inner tie rod end from Ford. Should I look at aftermarket for the outer? Or should I go aftermarket for everything? If so, what brand would you recommend from rock auto

IMO, I'd just go aftermarket.
Rockauto shows different P/N for left and right outers, but looks like inners are the same.

MOOG used to be a reliable brand, but I haven't had to buy anything suspension related in years.

They are definitely different. All cars are. Some back in the day were reverse threaded, now more common are small angles and off sets. They mirror each other. Go with a good aftermarket on rockauto. The green brand is actually pretty good. Ttx I think its called. Made for severe use and off road.

Moog All the way though or OEM inner Moog Outter?

If you have a steel knuckle, good luck! I’ve tried 3 different parts(1 Ford, 2 aftermarket), none fit!

Moog all the way, they usually have a superior part. They also have a problem solver series of parts to address shortcomings in the OE parts.

What parts were they that didn't fit, brand, part number or description would be helpful just saying parts don't fit doesn't help anyone.

I have a steel knuckle. Got some free unused outer tie rods and they fit perfectly. Never really wondered if they fit or not. They were ford OEM ones
