Definitely 75 is on the upper end just depends on the terrain.
Do you think itās worth looking at aftermarket radiators that would help?
To be honest, the engine temperature is less of a worry for me because it comes down so fast. Itās the transmission temperature that worries me.
So Iāve cleaned as much as I can as well as washing from both sides to clear dust.
( the unfortunate fact is this was a construction truck used in Utah. So I may never be able to get it fully clean without replacing.)
2. Fan speed does change as the load increases, I can definitely hear it!
So for flat ground Iām aiming for cruising at 75 coolant at around 195-205 and tranny at 205-215 tow mode!
My main concern is the temperatures while going up and down hills. Thereās just so many of them no matter where I go around here that I would love to be able to keep those temps lower and...
This is while towing up steep terrain 5-8% grade
flat towing temps fine 200 coolant temp and about 212 tranny.
I wouldnāt say heavy throttle I could go faster but if I do my temps climb to uncontrollable highs. So generally Iām going about 25-30mph Durring these steep grades
highway cruising...
Towing temperatures
I do a lot of towing of my smaller but still good size Rv between Las Vegas and California and all up the west coast. ( itās about 1600lb)
So I have the combined extreme temps, steep grades, and narrow roads. Iām noticing my coolant and trans temps getting really high and...
Itās time for new wheels and tires for my white ranger. What are you guys with lifts/level kits running for wheels? Thinking 17in Offroad overland look.
Ofc I like the methods but $$$
Honestly the RC model 85 look pretty sick! Just looking to see what people are running and some photos!

Thanks for that info @airlinetech!
Was poking around with the black light some more tonight and got really scared when I saw some fluorescence in the oil⦠see photosā¦.
But then I went over to a brand new bottle of oil from Ford and it glowed exactly the same..
going to go pull a plug right now.
Well I have tried 3 different pressure testers and canāt fine a single one that fits! Looks like the correct adapter from Matco is a week plus outā¦
Approaching the point where I think I might just need to take it in and have someone diag it
On my way to Harbor freight to buy a tester right now. Just to make sure itās not the tester.
Iām almost starting to think the EGR cooler might be the culprit. But we shall see.
For the last few months, Iāve been chasing a mystery coolant leak.
About a month or so ago I thought I found it in a quick connect fitting that had gone bad on the backside of the engine, feeding the transmission cooler lines.
Replaced that fitting and refilled up the coolant and didnāt really...
Does anyone know if itās possible to update the PCM?/TCM firmware with FORScan? And or check if itās up-to-date.? Iāve read contradicting things some people saying no only Ford can do it. But I also found a FS forum sayings itās easyā¦
90% sure my Ranger has the updated transmission. But the...
So they balanced it again said it was a few Oz out. The shake is gone but there is still a ārumbleā āhmmmmmmhmmmmā kinda sound and slight vibration. They think itās just how the truck is with the lift
itās a vibration you can feel in the wheel and the floor as well as a slightly Audible soundā¦
I took it to a Offroad shop here in town and they rode around with me, they are thinking the same thing could be balance or possible a out ofso yeah round wheel
I looked at both ball joints. Thereās no tears no rips both of them look relatively new. Obviously there could definitely be something internal thatās failing. But Iāve at least never seen that on any car Iāve worked on lol
Do both of my CV axles look normal? And fully seated.?
I guess Iām...
