this shows that the giveaway was rigged....
There was always something underhanded with the process.
was there even witness' to the draw? verified by an independent source?

I think Dave is preying on the weak, manipulating them into doing things they don't want.
you put FREE into the subject line, you might as well be handing out bags of sugar to the fat kids at the mall

I demand a recount..and a permanent banning of the offending moderator who abuses his powers.
Meracopa county style........

Welcome Mark,

Thanks for the kind words about True North. I’m glad you like what I’ve done. It’s really just a work truck but I have to say, it didn’t come without a lot of research on these forums and a lot of inspiration from the great trucks on here. So many members have done some awesome things with their trucks and I learned a lot from their builds.

If you’re looking at possibly overlanding, carefully choose your tonneau cover. If you’re considering a bed rack for a roof top tent (RTT - get used to the acronyms), there are only so many that work with a tonneau cover. Like I said, a lot of research on these forums.

Also, feel free to reach out to forum members with questions when you see something on their rigs that you like. Most like sharing their knowledge and can really help you put together a great setup while avoiding some of the pitfalls.

Good luck with your new Ranger.

If you value your marriage I suggest you don't come back. My 22 XLT is on order and I already have a list of parts all cause of this place. I should have known better :)
Amen!! Ordered the truck back in July, still no truck, but I got a couple grands of mods already in the garage waiting to be installed...

" Also, feel free to reach out to forum members with questions when you see something on their rigs that you like"

this is such a true statement.
Take me for example....I have a highly unmodified truck, without a damper....this is what you should like also.
Data shows more Rangers are damper-less.
There's a reason for that.
Liking your biceps, as chiseled muscular forms, is much more appealing while overlanding with stick limbs, let me explain...

No one will ask for your help on the trail when they see you spindly arms. Someone could be trying to navigate a river crossing, be perilously close to being overturned by the strong current as they picked a bad line...they will be hanging out the window waiting for help to arrive and safely navigate their family to shore....when they see you park on the shore and exit your vehicle with a tow strap...they will retreat back inside the cab and act as if its unoccupied, ducking behind the seats, secretly wishing the current will overturn their rig and wash it downstream crushing it with every roll.
However, if you step out of your vehicle, with biceps stretching the seems of your button up flannel shirt, they will wave and whistle to grab your attention as you take your 75ft Kevlar tow rope, and swing it above your head like a lasso as you launch it towards their perilously positioned rig saving them effortlessly within minutes.
You missed your calling you should have been a writer, but I am surprised you used a river crossing in your example as rivers are really damp...errrr........badda bing....

Yah to late for that, (already mounted a trifold by Rough Country) but I did see a home built unit from 1x 3 x 1/8" aluminum structural shapes, this custom piece actually mounted ontop of the bed rails and did not interfere with the cover tracks, the only issue was the need to drill 6 - 5/16" holes to secure the mounting feet (2/mounting plate).
The draw back I see to having one of the RTT's is what the heck do you do with it when not in use? hang it from the garage rafters?

Well here we go, Stage 3 Motorsports was running an ad (2) days ago and I bit, purchased a set of Ford Performance tuned Fox struts and rear shocks, should arrive shortly into the new year.
Now I am wondering if I should just mount larger tires on the 18's that came with the truck or go custom? The truck was ordered with the, Black out option so the wheels look pretty nice already, but I sure do like the Method 301's, tough to decide........

Ah, welcome to the dance Mark - those aftermarket wheels will now have you wondering about their offset and whether or not you will rub on crash bars or suspension parts and what you’ll need to do to combat or avoid that.

Is this the look you’re going for?

These are stock wheels with 31.6” tires 265s with an aggressive tread.

Yah thats about how I would like to start, 265/18 KO2's on stock wheels with a 2" lift on the front to level things out. The 21's came with cast iron spindles I don't see any aftermarket UCA's made for CA spindles as of yet. From what I have read anything past the leveling you should start considering lowering the front differential to keep the CV angle more optimum, I really don't want to get that deep into it.
As my intro pointed out I have never driven off road, with no experience why build a truck for anything but mild off road work, kinda like gravel roads in really bad condition. I am certain that once I get a taste of the wild I will further the build but for now I just need a taste.
I do like the look of the steel front bumper cut high with a place to mount a winch (desert runner I believe is what they are called) and really am considering this for my next purchase/install. To be honest I never liked that look on a full size PU but I think it really fits on the Ranger.
