I just put new wheels on my Ranger and I saved the stock Lariat wheels. I'm not liking the Goodyear Max-Life tires I went with after the stockers were toast at 43K. I like the Goodyear's a lot in the good weather for the highway and zipping around town. Sadly, when the weather gets icy/snowy the wife would rather drive the Hyundai Kona AWD with the Continental Extreme Contacts instead of the truck. I'm thinking of putting the Goodyear's on the stock wheels and buying a new set. This time I'm definitely going with a more aggressive tread that's good off-road and in bad weather. Heck, It's only another $1K or so.....no big deal, right?I have 2 sets of wheels. The factory A/T’s with the stock wheels for bad weather and trails, and a set of American Racing Baja rims and some el cheapo highway tires for commuting and daily driving. I just swap ‘em out in the driveway.

These are good tires. As said, they are quiet and don't hoard debris too bad lol Ran these a few times now and have them on my other truck currently.Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They don't throw rocks like most tires and they're very quiet on the street.

If I ever wear out the stock Grabber ATX's, then I plan on getting a set of the BFG KO2's. And my wife has a Chevy Trax AWD on the same Continentals (which is actually good in light snow) and refuses to drive the Ranger because she doesn't feel comfortable in large vehicles. Since she won't drive the truck, I keep recovery gear with me in case she gets stuck or something, and I got a set of mini traction boards for her car, because the Continentals aren't rated for Severe Snow and my General ATX's are.I just put new wheels on my Ranger and I saved the stock Lariat wheels. Stop buttering Dave up, his head is big enough! ??Wow, those were the ones I was looking at. You made my decision easier. Your truck looks great. Thanks!
+1 on the Toyos!I'll just put in a plug for my Toyo AT III tires. I've had them on a few months now, and they are very quiet on road and have done a great job in mud and snow. The only negative (and this would be true of most any offroad tire) is it has hurt my MPG a bit. I did not like the Hankooks - IMO the only thing they were good for was MPG.
Lucky man. Lucky. Fingers crossed for when I get mine. That said, years ago she drove my Frontier occasionally so I am probably shit out of luck.refuses to drive the Ranger
My Tremor came with 265/70-17 General Grabber ATx tires. While they do pick up stones like any relatively aggressive all terrain tire will I have not had any chips on the rockers after 19k miles. Between the wider fender flares on the Tremor and the anti-chip coating under the paint on the rockers they are pretty well protected. What tire do you have? The generals seem to hold a lot of rock.
