So, out of curiosity I pretty much check the value of my truck against several sites weekly.

I've honestly been tempted to sell it a couple of times due to some very generous offers that are thousands more than I paid for it.

So today, out of even more curiosity I thought I'd try a comparably equipped Tacoma TRD Off Road vs my Ranger XLT on KBB (optioned as close as I could get them. No dual power seats for you Tacoma!)

Surprised at the results based on the high Tacoma resale value.

Who knows how accurately this reflects the real world though.

Surprised as well here.

Especially given the Taco's price of entry.

I'm cheap, and I love my truck. Therefore I'm afraid To check it's value. Might have to sell it and drive my beat up Jeep if the offer was right.

Looking at KBB out of curiosity is what got me to trade my '19 ranger for a '21 ranger last month.
Beware.... ;)

I'm not really too surprised, Taco sales have been slipping now that the Ranger has been out for a few years now. Most (who aren't fan boys) switch once they see w how much better the Ranger's drivetrain and seating position is. The main problem is replacing what you have with something not grossly overpriced right now. If you have a few vehicles I'd price them all and sell the one giving you the most profit. ?

Last week the Nissan Dealer only offered $28k for my 21 SCAB w tow package including $3k in aftermarket parts that was installed. Truck had 4000 miles on the clock. I paid $31k(out the door price)August this year for the Ranger which had 24 miles on the ODO. Test drove the new 22 Frontier but did not bite. The test drive made me appreciate the little Ranger even more

Your truck is worth a lot more to the dealer stock.

Aftermarket accessories add minimal if any value and can actually lower the value of your trade.

I still have my factory stuff.

If someone throws me a ludicrous offer (Carmax offer of $38,700 cash was pretty close) I'll return it to stock and sell the mods separately.

Dang. Your trade in value on a 2019 is $6000 more than I paid for my truck new back in April!

Put simply the Ranger is becoming more desirable compared to the competition. My suggestion, if you like your Ranger then keep it.

Hey, the 2019 has 6, count 'em, 6 bed tie downs!

At dealer pricing, that's a couple grand boost right there...

Paid $36,700 before taxes etc four months ago. Dealership offered me $39,000 for it when I had it in for recall work. ?

If only there was anything to pick from if I did trade it in.
